Takes a day or so to unwind and realise you don't have to be anywhere or do anything if you don't want to. Just be careful how much you drink if you do, I tend to drink faster on my own without realising it |

It's like going to a restaurant alone or going to the cinema alone... some people seem to think it's weird. I think a holiday alone (did one myself many moons ago) can be a truly amazing experience. People are too quick to shelter behind friends or loved ones... when life is out there to be explored by yourself if you can pluck up the courage to go solo.
Have fun... and if you make it to Marrakesh you'll love the bazaar there... totally bonkers |

Took a while to decide if i wanted to do it or not. Friends have asked me to go to spain with them but dont fancy a stroppy teenager and a naughty nine year old. Been there done that with my own daughter. I shall be visiting the bazzar looking forward to haggling |

I went backpacking alone, was great. You're not subject to anyone else's whims and you can easily meet people if you're feeling sociable. I met hundreds of people while I was away (for a year admittedly) - loads more than if I'd gone with a friend or partner. |

I went on my own for the first time this year and found it strangely nice - got time to myself and did whatever I wanted.
Also - believe me you will get company if you want it
I went with no expectations and a few books and had a great time - have fun you do deserve it

I've been to France and Italy on my own, I was nervous the first time , once I got there I was fine. People talk to you more if you're alone and I think the hotels look after you too. The best thing is doing what you want, when you want, eating where you choose and no one to answer to! Ah bliss ! Now you've got me thinking of booking something ! Morocco is on my "to do" list. Can we have a full trip advisor report when you've been please? |

Went to Ibiza on my own a couple years ago, had a great time, visited some nudist beaches during the daytime, (all over tan) then of out clubbing or down to the swingers club on the evening/night time. Had such a good time, would really love to go again. |

Sounds like you had perfect holiday. I doubt i shall find a swungers club. Maybe if i lose a bit more fat and find a secluded nudist beach i may be brave and get an all over tan |

North of The Wall - youll need your vest |
Ive been going on holiday alone for donkeys years now and I prefer it to going away with other people.
I find that always meet loads more people when Im on my own - sometimes the problem is convincing other people that Im absolutely fine and dont really want to join them for dinner/sit with them on the beach/spend a day sightseeing with them.... |

I went to Switzerland on my own as a 24 year old. I wanted do something different than going on the usual mates holidays. All my friends thought I was mad but I loved it. I then went to Singapore and Oz on my own the following year.
You can please yourself, its bliss!
I will holiday alone again when my son is older too.
Enjoy, you will have a fantastic time x |

I'm going to Iceland (the country, not the freezer shop) on my own in December. To be fair, it's an escorted tour so I won't be totally solo but it'll be a bunch of strangers...did the same a few years back with Peru - made friends then, hopefully I'll do the same in December |

I'm abroad alone atm on my way to Sydney - life is tough for us students but a couple weeks till term starts so great to relax. Thinking of buying a lovely new dildo before my flight tonight, as it's over twelve hours so need to be entertained. Traveling alone is a great chance to unwind and find local like minded souls. |

I've not been abroad alone but I can imagine it's fine. Sure it's easy to meet people if you're the right kind of person, and you have the benefit of going to the places and doing exactly what you want to do.
Have fun! |

Enjoy it.
I used to love my little 'me' retreats.
Always a long weekend with nothing to worry about, nobody to worry about, just days of walking, sleeping, eating, drinking, reading & generally doing what I want, when I want.
I was always surprised at just how comfortable I was with my own company and just how much I needed the time to be me, not the son, the partner, the boss ... just me !

Ticked that one off my bucket list a while ago - in Corfu. Yes it was a Greek bar owner. No, he didn't have his own boat, but his friend did! |

i had a week in gran canaria on my own after i lost a partner - went to the same place we stayed at when he was taken ill - went to the beach every day alone and baked the body - made some friends around the complex and read a lot of books - cooked pasta and sauce for tea and drank bottles of the local supermarket wine - was a week to come to terms with stuff and get away from it all - scattered some ashes and was totally at peace with myself - |
