Why don't people use search

...in forums?

Not having a moan, but it's just occurred to me that the same subjects are coming up in various areas of the forums in new threads day in day out.

For example the 'i'm a single guy who's been here five minutes' whine.

Having used forums elsewhere I am a little surprised that there doesn't appear to be a forum rules (or guidelines) sticky including recommendation to search for your question before posting.

Just a thought. What does everyone else think?

Sometimes new input turns up on an already asked question. Some people like answers personalised for them and not generic answers. Not everyone uses lots of online forums and knows how they work
