Agreed. I got bored of A - level psychology due to Freud. .. but the theory is still there |

Older women are by far sexier in every way possible.
I've been with younger women and women my age and it just isn't the same at all.
I have 3 sisters and 4 aunties and spent my whole life around women. I find it a lot easier to talk to women older than me as well. |

Needy-baby-greedy-baby syndrome.
Saw a documentary on it.
This guy lived with his room mate. They were both these total genius physicists but all he wanted was for his mother to acknowledge him. Show him some love. He explained at one point about being a boy and building himself a 'hugging robot' just so he knew what it felt like.
He ended up being treat like a doormat by the girl across the landing in the block of flats they both lived in.
A lesson to us all, I think. |

I remember seeing images of semi naked women on tv, in movies and catalogues when I was a kid, and not knowing why they excited me so much, and I reckon many guys had similar experiences. Obviously these women were considerably older than ourselves at the time, and I believe this gives us a natural attraction to these older women that carries through to adulthood. |

The theory you won't like although as valid as any other is competition. Imagine a pride of lions. The alpha male has his selection of "prime" breeding stock. The Alpha male is neither old or young but also in his prime, possessed of both strength and experience. ...
The young males, if not driven from the pride, will either have to confront the alpha with the possibility of death or content himself with less "prime" breeding stock.
To break analogy and convert, young men go for older women as they fear competition amongst others in prime breeding range, so they gain experience and ability by "training" on less desirable women.......

Don't like the expression " Toy boys" cos people aint toys and boys seems wrong!! ..... Wonder also when the 'toyboy' label finishes? Ie is this just used when the man is younger than the woman , or is there ages when this is more applicable to the onlooker? |

Not overtly, huge turnoff for me and I avoid any whiff of that. I think it's more about fancying their Mum's friends.
Mind you, I showed some girlfriends a pic of one rather hot young man I met and one remarked 'Hell, I'd breast feed that!'

Freud didn't have any good research behind his theories so I'd look at other reasons. The older we get the better our experience and needs levels. Young guys have a good place in satisfying our demands. Keep em coming. |

I beg to differ!! When I make the decision to meet a guy it is because we have chatted and have developed a great rapport, this is usually evident within the first few messages. If the rapport is good the likelihood is that the chemistry will be too. I have had fun with men in their mid 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s and not once has their age been a deciding factor so where does ego come into the equation? |
