Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Help! I'm trying to crop a pic and save the part I want but when I right click on the bit to be saved there's no option to save it. Any PS gurus out there?

I am using elements 9 and for me it goes

select crop tool

drag out selection, unwanted area goes dim

bottom right of selection there is a green tick and red stop sign

click the green tick

done

Have you clicked the 'tick' after cropping?

There is no tick to click

There should be a tick and a 'no entry sign' on the top grey bar above the picture if you're using the full version of PS? this selects the cropped area and forms a new image you can then save

Have you tried double clicking in the cropped area

If I double click the selection it just cancels the selection. And there is no tick above the picture, honest!
