"Petrol pump attendant. "

Snap, that was my first job aged 15. I went to boarding school, so had a month off at xmas & Easter and 8 weeks in the Summer. I did the pump attendant in the Xmas hols, it was bloody freezing. As it was a Trucker's overnight stop and Cafe, there were plenty of wagons to fill up. The lock on catch on the diesel nozzle was broken so I had physically hold it while I put 40 gallons in each tank. had to peel ma fingers off afterwards

In the same call centre every holiday. Luckily the gaffer liked me and always found space for me. She used to do her nut at me for turning up in slippers on a dress down day and for pissing about 50% of the time, but did like me all the same.

Chambermaid in a big hotel. Great for someone with ocd. Unfortunately the uniform wasn't one of those sexy little numbers.

I was lucky as I worked where a lot of black cabs used to come in and they would give me 10p for filling them up. It used to be worth a couple of quid a shift.

Collecting trolleys in a supermarket car park.

No happy memories.

Hated every second.

Made sure I stuck in at school and got a trade after though.

Not a bad thing after all.

Sheffield

Working in a bakery shop in York City centre. I used to spend the first six hours making sandwiches, do an hour behind the counter then start with the cleaning.

It was really hot in there but the alternative was to spend 8 hours a day in a glasshouse cutting lettuces with a 5am start!

There are some really varied jobs on here.

Would anyone go back and do them again? I would, as I had tremendous fun and there were tons of opportunities for mirth.

Is there still such a thing as a petrol pump attendant ? I haven't seen one for years.

Mainly bar work. I did work at Yorkshire post for a bit cold calling which was good. Quite sad now because the building is halfway through being demolished.
