So after a great pb busting run this morning at parkrun I come home to find my race number and timing chip for my first ever 10k event has been delivered....it's getting a bit real now!!

I have run the distance a few times now in training but looking at it on the map it looks a hell of a long way! And there's a big hill at the beginning!!! I hate hills!!!

Whose silly idea was this

I did my first 10k in April. It was amazing. I hadn't taken into account the power of the crowd to spur me on and I beat my pb by 8 minutes.

It is an amazing experience. You won't even notice the hill.

I have a half marathon in 4 weeks and I'm shitting a brick!!

Good luck and have loads of fun!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Just treat it as another session. You've done the distance so when you look at the map again just remind yourself that you know how to do that far.

Well done. Keep it up.

I achieved a personal best running for a bus the other day - I didn't miss it and no one was laughing as I got on board.

You've done amazingly well, and iI'm proud of you. You've had some ups and downs on the way, but remember 8 weeks ago you hadn't completed a 10k run!

You're always at park run now which has hills, and you know you can get up them with no problem.

Think of this as prep for your next challenge...... Half marathon.x x

Need to know basis

That's amazing. Well done for signing up for a 10K run. Think of the goal post and how wonderful you will feel to have achieved it.

All the best

The crowd will definitely spur you on. I've got my first tough mudder next Saturday, excited and bricking it in equal measure, just trying to drag my arse out of bed to go for a run now.
