Just found this on the internet and was wondering how many ladies slept commando(obviously the hairy bit is not so relevant for a lot of the ladies on here)...
Gynecologists often recommend slipping off your panties while you sleep, as a way to let your vulva breathe (and potentially reduce your risk of infections). Yet only 18 percent of women actually follow this advice, according to a new Brazilian study. “I often tell my patients to sleep without underwear, and some of them look at me like I have three heads,” says Alyssa Dweck, M.D., co-author of V is for Vagina. “They’re concerned about vaginal discharge—that you’re supposed to have a barrier. Wearing no underwear might seem kind of gross to them.”
But it’s actually a smart idea to ditch your undies at night, since your lady parts are naturally moist, dark, and hairy. “If [the area] is constantly covered—especially by a fabric that’s not moisture-wicking or absorbent—moisture collects,” says Dweck. “That’s a perfect breeding ground for bacteria or yeast.” That’s why she recommends going commando at least some of the time, especially if you’re frequently plagued by infections below the belt. |

Is wearing knickers in bed a cultural thing?
I hadn't really thought about it before but I can't remember an ex ever wearing them as a matter of course except one who was Italian and another who was American. |

Yeah, American girls were taught it is naughty to sleep with no underwear when i was growing up. I became a naughty girl in my teens, though. I sleep naked unless I'm in a girlie way, and more often than not go commando during the day, too |

I was taught to wear knickers in bed. I'm not sure what my mother thought it would protect me from but there you go.
I ditched them and nighties when I was about twelve and had a room of my own. I still had to put them in the wash though so that when I hung out my clothes she could see I wasn't a deviant.

Many moons ago I was a painter and decorator...that's why you don't get too many really good tradesmen anymore, with the lady of the house keeping her underwear on and the perks of the job disappearing...lol.  |
