Tonight I had the misfortune to go into a supposed secure bicycle park to find my bike and several others gone, I reported them like you do. Only to be told that thy are closing the report as there is nothing they can do.
I know it is impossible to find them, but to be told the police are not bothering is a bit of an insult. |

what made the bike park more secure than others?
was it insured?
there was an item on the news the other day about how some police forces asked people to investigate their own crimes and get back to them lol |

As long as I can be judge, jury and executioner, then I will look into my own crime. |

Every pushbike, 5 in total, I have ever owned has been stolen The last one was the only new one that I have ever bought, the lock itself was £40 and total outlay about £300. I won't be bothering again |

One of my son's friends had his bike stolen from a lock-up. He was unhappy to say the least as his bike was hand built and cost thousands. Shortly after his son saw it advertised for sale on gumtree ........ police wanted nothing to do with it when the guy phoned them to tell him he'd seen it for sale. Ended up him and a couple of friends went round to view this bike for sale and two wee gadgees were selling it for a couple of hundred. He took his bike back, said the boys in the van and he now knew where they lived and if anything else went missing from his lock-up they'd be back.
Try searching local gumtree or flea-bay. You never know? |
