Arthur

... I always watch it right through..never get bored of it. John Gielgud is magnificent as is Dudley Moore. Great writing, great acting by the two above makes it an all-time favourite...

Close behind is Chariots of Fire..great music, acting, and relating of the largely true story

Ok War Games, looks dated now but at the time very cutting edge! My mate used to have a speech synthesiser for the ZX Spectrum and programmed it to say 'Greetings Professor Falken, shall we play a game?' and for that very reason alone I'll always remember it (and bought the DVD for about £2 a year ago!)

"....... the wanderers"

70's

"Tomorrow it's Jurassic park "

90's

The Original Terminator was 1984 and cost about the same to make as the tea budget for the sequel and in many ways is better.

American Werewolf in London (fore runner to the Thriller video- but without the crappy music )

Bill & Ted

The Abyss (very under rated film)

The Elephant Man

Platoon

Blade Runner

Full Metal Jacket

Die Hard

Rumble Fish (bit odd)

Repo Man (slightly odder)

London

Once Upon a Time in America ( De Niro , Leone , Morricone , perfection.) Raging Bull and King of Comedy ( Scorsese and De Niro at the top of their game.) Jean De Florette and sequel Manon Des Sources ( lyrical and heartbreaking morality tale set in rural France .) Blade Runner ( a realistic vision of a future dystopia as ever conceived.) Broadway Danny Rose (Woody Allen conveys pathos and hilarity in equal parts as an hapless talent agent.) Withnail and I ("we want the finest wines available to humanity ,we want them here, and we want them now.")

Predator already been mentioned numerous times on this thread, did'nt seem much point in repeating it, same as Aliens and Terminator. I don't think first blood was cack, it was a good film however from Rambo 2 onwards then the series went cack, lol.

I'm also a Arnie fan and Commando has some great scenes and lines in it.
