just had a 80mile round trip wasted by sum time wasters in heartlepool, exchanged a few messages on here then swapped numbers. they then txt me with their postcode and we exchanged more txts as i got closer then when i was in their street they stopped replying and wouldnt answer their phone to me! to say im sick is an understatement  |

That is sick making, unfortunately there are many, for whatever reason, enjoy the thrill of the chase more than the actual meeting. Perhaps their phone ran out of charge? Or they didn't like the look of you? whatever the reason, I hope they text you with an explanation. xx |

we had that happen a few weeks back,messaged a bloke a few times on here and arranged a meet at hotel, it was for me and hubby and him, he was texing for 2 days how he couldnt wait and all the crap, we left for hotel and he was still texing up untill we arrived at the hotel we paid £100 to reception then we got a text that his brand new car wouldnt start, pissed off or what and he wouldnt answer us but we will never do it again, weve lernt now |

nah their phone couldnt of ran out of charge, it was ringing when i was calling, also i sent them a recent face pic. time wasters is all they are |

I don't think they will Laine. If they ran out of charge they're in their home where the charger is!
In three years of swinging I've never encountered a time waster yet! They are easy to spot and I always arrange a social meet before play.
To the OP I wouldn't have been amused and I hope it doesn't put you off! |

One of the many reasons why we don't meet off any site lol
Sounds strange i know but use fab and other sites to keep in touch with mates
Meet throu socials,clubs and friends of friends lol and get to know the peeps before we see their home
Find it a better way around things
To the OP that is so out of order mate and single males get a rough time on here sometimes but there are couples that are not funny sometimes too xx |

I'm not in favour of 'naming and shaming' it achieves nothing.
Maybe an option on profiles would be a function where you could report the user to ADMIN/MOD's highlighting the fact but which is not visible to users?
Repeated offenders could then be banned for abusing the site!
Just my two pennies worth.

That could/would be open to abuse,would get people who have been turned down reporting people out of spite,best thing the OP can do is report the profile and if there is a patern admin might be able to do something about it.
Ive heard of people travelling before now only to be sent to wrong address,luckily it hasnt happened to us but its not just the time wasted its the cost petrol ect,i would be livid! |

This couple was probably canvassing for the tall ship race thats due to happen in Harlepool in August. Maybe they are trying to get as many visitors to the area, by conning people into false meets, lmao....
Never knew it was 40 mile from Stanley to Harlepool mind. Tough luck fella, dont let it put you off future meets, plenty of decent peeps in the northeast  |

That's why I always meet socially first. I work close to a major mainline station, meet around there after work if they don't turn up just catch my train home.
I don't deviate from that as I've no intention wasting my time and money! |

This does seem to be an issue that needs addressing. Sure, it would be open to abuse, but maybe as suggested above, a softly-sfotly type approach could be adopted whereby timewasters like those in the OP can be reported and red-flagged. Then, if it happens again with the same users Admin can ask them to explain themselves and ban them if they refuse to co-operate. A ban on a username is simple enough to get around but not so easy with a fixed IP address.
It needs looking at though.
To the OP: Commiserations pal, it's a shitty deal but you have no choice but to just accept it and chalk it down to experience. My advice would be to get to know people of a length of time online first, meet socially somewhere neutral (and halfway) and also get yourself to the many socials organised on here.
And remember: A photo of a ficticious potential playmate is never going to amount to anything. Ignoring your instincts, for fear of scaring them off, is playing right into a timewaster's hands.
Good luck for the future and don't let this one bad experience put you off. There's loads of genuine, sexy swingers out there who won't let you down so badly. |

and when it does you really wish you could let everyone know who they are so they can be avoided
it happend to us n the new year - we too only got our 'cancellation text' after we had booked in to the hotel and driven for 3 hrs
mind you it works the other way round too
last week we turned up to a meet to find the guy didnt look anything like his photo
i wouldnt even go into the house - just said no thank you there and then and got back into our car
i suppose he is thinking we are time wasters  |

Thats why i/ we (when we played as a couple) never arranged hotel meets to avoid the expense if it goes pear shaped. Also prefer to see who im meeting on cam as like you said face pics can be misleading. |

Not to be funny but why would you go that far without getting a full address and phone number in advance?
Come to think of it, we've never met anyone without giving our complete address out the day before. Is it common practice to say "come all this way and we'll give you the door number when you get to the street"? |
