Another thread disappears!
OK so when a thread becomes nothing more than a slanging match it needs to be closed, or when an individual post breaks the rules say by naming and shaming someone it is removed and that is how it should be. But when a thread is active and has many replies why should the whole thread be removed? |

Do you mean when someone comments then there are many comments after it ie people have used the quote link rather than separately? If they have used the quote, then the whole thread disappears as they are linked i guess |

If a quotes post appears throughout the thread and is offensive or abusive (or naming/shaming etc) and needs to be removed entirely it would leave the thread looking somewhat random and sporadic and would serve no purpose in leaving it up. Plus it's a lot of editing for an unpaid moderator to do so it's easier to just delete the entire thing. Makes sense to me. |

Fair comments all, and I see your point wishy, and I know that the mods do a hard and thankless job. Its just such a shame that true debate and the exchange of information and ideas can be stifled so easily by anyone or small group who don't like what is being said. I just hope that at some point this will change (well we can all dream! LoL)
