Titz Towers, North Notts

I love looking up local news; there are some odd things happening around and about:

There is a swimming pool closed following a fire. That one surprised me, as you'd have thought a swimming pool would be quite resistant to fire...

Leicester Council is paying to demolish their old HQ. They've not thought that one through. I think they could charge local residents £5 a time to smash the place up. Anyone who has tried to phone a council and find someone interested in answering would be well up for that.

In Blackpool a woman was stabbed by a man wielding a pen. Not a machete or a chainsaw, but a pen. The detective looking into it said she was lucky to escape without serious blood loss. From a pen????

And the last one to tickle my fancy was a woman in Douglas who had her handbag nicked. It had £5,000 in it. Who on earth walks about with 5K in their bag? My gran used to keep a few hundred in her bag, 'just in case I see something I fancy' but 5 grand is a bit much for that, unless you fancy buying a car, or putting a down payment on a house...

Now the person who wrote that deserves some applause

A couple of gems from over the years:

"Homicide victims rarely talk to the police"

"Police raid gun club, weapons found"

"Dead body found in cemetery"
