Is it more common today than in the past, especially amongst younger guys? I'm very thin on top myself at just 31, but looking at guys I used to go to school with on face book, around half of them seem to be the same?
Personally I'm not particularly bothered by my own baldness, but it does get me wondering why so many of us are losing our hair so quickly - is it the world we live in? Excessive pollution, too much processed and packaged food? |

Female pattern baldness as well has gone up ten fold.Stress factors as well as what you have mentioned are possible causes, as well as genetics. |

Pretty sure mine was genetic. I had a relatively healthy diet of home cooked food as a child. But all the relevant men on my Mum's side of the family: Uncle, Grandad, great, great Grandad were all bald |

"I say viva the baldness as I love bald men "
Seems to be the same for a lot of women, hence why I'm not that bothered by being bald, it's a rather modern and fashionable look - mind though, 'fashion' typically comes about when everyone's doing the same thing, and in the case of baldness, it seems to be through a lack of options rather than a choice! |

Its a shame because I do like a man with a good head of hair but you cant have everything I guess. I think its mostly hereditary and can be caused by stress some old men are lucky and still have quite good head of hair just a bit thinner. |

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds) |
In western White males, Male pattern baldness affects about 20% of twenty years olds 30% of thirty year olds and roughly grows by 10% per decade of age at 60 year's old about 60 % of the white male population will have a degree of baldness
I'd say its Mainly genetic caused di hydro testosterone. affects the blood supply to the follicle resulting in the follicles death, certain drugs can reduce the loss (minoxodil) Works for some folk not for everyone, after speaking to a Dr as it didn't work for me he said yep I can get your hair to stay but your cock might not work . I can say my cock does work |

I'm bald by choice. I just like the look and the contrast between my head and my hairy face lol.
Although, baldness runs in my family i'm pretty sure it's just a matter of time before my hair starts thinning and i've got the patch.
Not too fussed by it though. The look suits me.

Apparently is due to increases testosterone levels, however I also read that fertility rates are also dropping in European men... Perhaps the Chinese have put something in the water .. |

There are plenty of guys with high testosterone levels who have hair I have noticed bald guys do have rather small balls though. |

Japan 80 percent keep there hair, they eat fish and veg, natural foods.
Usa 80 percent men go bald, they eat fastfood, high sugars and processed food.
Eat right and take dht blockers (Monoxinil, gla) might help. |

It will have a genetic element in most incidences, but environmental conditions play their part - sometimes the environmental conditions are involved in activation of genetic factors, leading to physical changes. I dont know if its getter younger, though sperm counts have fallen, so physical effects could be happening. I steer clear of plasticisers, such as used to make plastic bottles etc, which leak into drinks and food- my thoughts are that they are not a good thing for us in the quantities that they are now in. Research treatments too, as various approaches may work and earliest interventions are best. |

"Paul started to lose his in his late teens and shaved it off in his early 20s
I say viva the baldness as I love bald men "
Mine started to thin at the temples and the crown a bit in my early 20's, and when it became noticeable i just decided to shave it off. With a stroke of luck it was around the same time David Beckham and Roy Keane had a skin head at Mau utd, so then it became quite fashionable.
When i first had it done the barber said she thought i'd got a good shaped head for the shaven look, it suits some men but does'nt suit others?
I was quite pleased with the result, and just do my own now every other day with the clippers, so save a small fortune at the barbers. I used to pay about £7 every two weeks for a haircut at the barbers, but the price has probably gone up loads since then. |

Yeah definitely, I'm only 21 and been receding since I was 17 or so. It's still acceptable just now, but whenever it gets to the stage I've a flat out bald spot I'm just gonna shave it. I can't be arsed with a combover! Embrace that son'bitch! |

Maybe its just all the worry about going Bald? Seems to be something you think about quite often. |

I know, I've posted three threads on it in the past year!
At this rate, I'll be mentioning my baldness as often as I do my cock (which by the way, is massive ) |
