time to but fish for my daughters tank today,Fish seem very exspensive compared to when she had a tropical tank and im also worried about how to keep them. In the past ive heard they are very hard to keep but the guy in the shop says its much easier these days, anyone have a Marine tank and any advice would be cool |

Never had marine but had 2 tropical tanks one 240L and the other 260L used to keep angelfish mostly
Marine is much more difficult but they are truly beautiful
Best of luck |

Marine tanks are a lot more expensive to run and the fish are expensive.
Buy only from shops that specialise as the fish will be better stock.
Avoid impulse buying and always ask if the fish you fancy are suitable for your set-up.
Get your tank set up at least a month before you even think of buying fish.
Always start with the cheaper fish as they are easier to keep and more hardy when it comes to water imbalances.
Tangs come in wonderful colours are are very easy to keep.
Check out a website called "the salty box",for excellent tips as well as some good bargains.
Am sure your going to love it once up and running.

Was it a Pets At Home that said they were easy?
They are easier to look after then they used to be, with the advances in filtration and the ability to buy pre-prepared water, but they are still far from easy.
My advice, please do not go to a Pets At Home, find an independent local retailer. |
