Just been to the hospital as my dad has been taken in the cardiology unit and he went in his car as he had a scare, they're keeping him til Monday.
Anyhow off I trot to pick his car up and realised parking was nearly 15.00... I thought right then. .. I let 3 cars get behind me drove up to the tanoid thing and explained the hospital kept him... Some guy dead cocky replied you still have to pay the charge. I said he has been kept in.. He isn't visiting... that's ok but yiu still have to pay... THERE'S 3 CARS BEHIND ME MY DAD IS IN THE CARDIOLOGY UNIT AND I POINT BANK WONT BE PAYING TTHIS FEE, HE IS A SICK MAN WHO CAN MOVE HIS OWN CAR SO YIU EITHER LIFT THIS BARRIER OR NO ONE IS LEAVING TODAY SIMPLY AS.
ok ill let you off today but don't let it happen again.
ARE YOU FOR REAL?! ER THANKS.
Disgusting. |

Had something similar. OP appeal if they do send a fine and send them the hospital details. It's ridiculous. |

Our hospital will overturn any ticket given to someone that has been admitted,it also gives reduced rate parking for relatives who are visiting for a few days and it gives free parking for certain treatments |

All be it there shouldn't be a fee this sounds like common sense!!! They should all adapt to this policy! |

Why shouldn't the fee apply?
What with this and homeless people there seems to be an argument every day |

We did similar in alton towers....paid HUNDREDS of pounds in that place (7of us) and they wanted £6 parking fee
Nearly ran the staff over who thought Dave would stop if she stood in front of him....we had it all on video....hilarious
Anyway....I think parking fees in hospitals are disgusting.....no one wants to be there and why the feck should you have to pay to park to visit someone who is there through no fault of their own. |

As I read it if you drive into a hospital but are admitted you can't then go and get a ticket. Therefore I'm sure there's grounds for an appeal if a ticket is issued. |

"A fine may still appear in the post. A lot of hospitals sub-contract the car parking. You just need to intercept it before you Dad sees it.
"
Most hospitals also have signs warning that being abusive to staff isn't tolerated and the police will be notified.
I hope the attendant was being genuinely sympathetic (which let's face it is unlikely) rather than he's been trained to defuse a situation and then escalate it appropriately.
Oh and I hope your dad's ok |

I suspect and hope that's tge case. But suspect that a little more evidence is needed to avoid the charge than shouting at the attendant |

Stress levels can get high when visiting a poorly parent.
But staff should be respected, he's only doing his job. |
