Just come the opposite way, pretty solid to j9 and also on the B roads....I'd advise against the wolvo ring road on the 449 then through the other side at this time on a Friday |

"How many swinger sat in this bloody que. We are trying to get to Darlaston can we come off at Stafford and divert .
"
I live in cannock so know this area well, you can get off at stafford and just follow signs for cannock, you can cut through over cannock chase (nice scenic route) via Hednesford, then onto cannock and from cannock head towards walsall/Darlaston.
You can also get off the M6 at acton trussel, (where the big Argos depot is) this may be a better way as you can then cut out stafford town centre, go from acton trussel over cannock chase (watch out for doggers, lol), into hednesford, then cannock and then head towards walsall/Darlaston. via the A34 through Bloxwich. |

There are a few options from Stafford but many get busy as rat runs when the m6 is jammed. But nicer to have a breather and its more under your control. Avoid motorway snack prices too, if you pop local. |

Id try to avoid the M5 too, as it queues at busy periods. Walsall to Darl is easy, you pass over the M6. Stafford town centre is not too bad but has a one way mini ring road. Depends where you are now. |

I had friends coming back from Wales yesterday. It took them 7hrs in total. Took them over an hour to get on M6... I'm glad to say it took me 3hrs to do the whole journey last month |
