I'm awaiting an ultrasound scan for my leg to see if I have a blood clot, I'm 37 weeks pregnant and I'm shitting myself I don't really want to stay overnight let alone having injections.
Has anyone suffered from blood clot in the leg/s and was it anything serious?
Sorry if my post doesn't make sense I'm half asleep due to shit night sleep. |

There is absolutely nothing to worry about, I went into hospital for dvt deep vein thrombosis about 7 years ago.
They tried ultrasound to find the problem but it didn't give a clear indication, so they injected a dye into my bloodstream and took a series of x-rays, they found a small clot which started the treatment.
I was on blood thinners for a time which was a bit worrying as it was designed to stop my blood clotting and any cuts would bleed for ages (not good if you are an engineer working with sharp tools)
After a series of tests they gave the all clear and taken off the thinners.
Biggest problem was an aversion to needles which meant every injection was a bit of a trial. Also had to wear a stocking on my leg to squeeze everything inwards which was changed in size to fit my thinner leg.
You are in the best possible place for treatment, its now commonplace treatment with no real risk. If you are worried tell the doctors and they will explain everything they will be doing and why. |

I haven't personally , but had a close family member that did . They then had to inject Fragmin to thin their blood and disperse the clot.
You're 37 weeks so not long left, It's good they're doing an ultrasound and being cautious. They know best so be led by them. It must be scarey for you, but you're in the best place. keep us posted . |

Sorry to hear. A CT scan will show how big a clot it is. You could be administered deltaparin or fragmin injections. I never realised I had a clot until it travelled to my lungs. I was on warfarin for 2 year's. |

I had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot on ma lung), 9 years ago and spent 10 nights in the DRI. I have always been active and hadn't been on any long haul flights. The doctors couldn't tell me what caused it. I am on Warfarin for life, but am considering changing to Rivaroxaban after consultation with my specialist. |
