Avoid "hey" "How are you" or our personal favourite "How are you finding this site?"
Incorporate any of the above in a paragraph saying a little about yourself but as stand alone messages it's been done many times before. |

First messages are not always easy. Starting point could be about something in the profile you want to talk about or ask. There's always the forum, a good good starting point for striking up a conversation in PM ... Try it and see!
