Extreme Hair Colours
Jump to: Newest in thread
My gorgeous subby recently got all her beautiful long hair cut off to symbolise our new journey together x her hair will now be managed by me and will over the next 2 years grow from her short pixie cut back into a long lucsious mane x
Her short hair is currently a dyed light brown with a half head of foil copper blond highlights x
The mid term aim is to achieve a full platinum bob x
The stylist who coloured my subs hair informed me that for sub to go straight to platinum would destroy her hair so she is booked in for full head mid blond foils next week x
With her hair fully pre lightened then it will be possible to bleach the full head achieving the platinum blond I desire x
However recently sub and I have been discussing a more extreme option of hair colours and would like to consider a vibrant shade from the Schwarzkopf xxl live range x
Currently looking at colour charts and keen to experiment with vibrant reds - bright purples x electric blues or bright pinks x
does anyone have experience or advice about selecting extreme xxl hair colours x maintaining healthy extreme xxl dyed hair or can confirm that girls with xxxl extreme dyed hair are infact more naughty!

"The bolder and braver you are with your hair - the more experimental you are in the bedroom?"
Terrible theory.
When I had electric blue and bright red hair I was a Virgin and timid.
Hair colour has nothing to do with sexual personality/prowess. |

I am a blonde and I have bright colours in my hair purple and pink sometimes
The live collection pink is not very nice
The less bright ones are good
Why not get hair chalk whilst thinking about it they can be washed out and can get loads colours |

No you are right - it's a terrible theory - but would be delightful if it was true! X |

Gosh really? That doesn't sound promising - do you have any advice / products from your experience that would minimise the risk of this happening? X |

xxl is rubbish. Manic Panic is the best. I have dyed my hair all sorts of colours and found that to be the best for coverage and lasting. but if you go red she may not need her hair bleached as one particular colour you can get in salon lifts as it tints. Ive used it on mine and my hair was reasonably dark at the time.
also if she wants to keep her hair is good condition still conditioning masks/treatments and very good quality shampoo will help loads! also allowing her hair to towel dry and not using heated styling tools as well.
(I'm a hairdresser not just getting on) lol ![](/icons/s/2/cute.gif) |

Have you spoken to the hair stylist about the stress on your sub's hair from bleaching and extreme colour? That is, if you're wanting to do something like go blonde to go pink.
The extreme colours can fade quickly, depending on both the colour and your sub's hair texture. It can stain the towels after washing, as well. They really can require a LOT of upkeep to keep up with covering new growth and colour fade. |

Thankyou very much x lots of useful advice to consider x
I understand a quality conditioning product and mask will protect her hair x
We will discuss red tones at her next appt x - might just go for slices of colour as a starting point?

Nah you can get it from some decent shops usually shops that sell wigs ect...
It's only semi permanent but it lasts a good time and is really vibrant easy to apply and as previously said the range of colours is good. |

Her hair now it's short is in great condition x
It grows quickly - perhaps half a centimetre in two weeks - so just a little bit of root showing x
Sub is at that age where there is a hint of grey in an area behind her ears and below her crown x
She has dyed and maintained her hair with a mixture of home used and salon products for decades x |

yes that would be a very good starting point start gradually and build up you may get to a point you love and keep to it. I always personally go bright all over but I know what I like and what suits me as have experience with bright colours on my skin tone but if you are not sure baby steps is the best way to go ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Going from dark hair to light is a major task and rightly so her stylist has suggested the hi lites route. However, making the hair lighter will damage the hair as it leaves it more porous. You will also have to consider the upkeep, if she has dark roots (even brown will look dark against platinum blonde), her roots will need doing regularly. As for crazy colours in the hair, whichever product you use will need alot of upkeep as they wash out quite quickly to leave a faded, and less appealing colour x |

Bleaching hair on a regular basis wil totally ruin the hair
The colours you put on are actually rather conditioning
My hair was people about 9 months ....the upkeep was unreal...hardwork and super expensive
My daughters hair is currently very long (near bum length) bleached to holy hell and pink....it's a nightmare, needs redying every 2 weeks and is costing me a bomb
Id buy your sub a wig |

I'm having to do a mask once a week as my hair is like straw. The photo of me with pink hair is on my profile. I used xxl pink. Don't use directions as they are crap. There's a new wash in\ out colour in boots called bleach. There red is fantastic. Do it for 15 mins the first time then every time u wash ur hair wash ur hair with normal shampoo, then put it on like a conditioner leave on for a couple on mins and rince for a boost |

Some excellent advice on this thread. .I would also recommend the crazy colour range as they last longer than the live ones and much better colours. Be prepared for your bathroom and bedroom to be stained whatever colour you choose. ... thankfully it does come out fairly easily with washing. As for being more naughty, I feel more confident and Sexy when I have brightly coloured hair so that leads me to being more daring so I guess on a way it does ..I think I use it to hide behind in a way. |

I have never dyed my hair however my daughters have used the xxl range of hair dyes and they never seem to come out the same colour as the box, even with lightened hair |

Been colouring my hair for 30+ years... Always been naturally fair but wanted blonder! Yes it can ruin hair if not looked after. I have my hair cut every 6/8 weeks , have short hair and am platinum blonde. I colour my own hair ( always have) and have no problems at all... Regular cuts and use of colour protect shampoo n conditioner ,help keep all in great condition
My hair always commented on ... Is my crowning glory! ... ![](/icons/s/2/cute.gif) |

L'Oréal extraordinary oil is great and they now do a very good hair mask in the range too. |

BBlonde conditioning mask for bleached hair to protect it. Renbow Crazy Colour for choice, vibrancy and slightly better staying power. Xxl is totally cack stay away from it. If you're gonna use Crazy Colour order online and in bulk, 4/5 at a time and it works out cheaper but make sure you buy from a proper online trader or you could end up with useless cheap imitation rubbish. I bleached, dyed and maintained my own hair for 3 years changing the colour regularly, as long as you use the right products i.e. colour protect shampoo and conditioner and regularly treat with conditioning mask, it'll be absolutely fine ![](/icons/s/2/cute.gif) |

I have dark brown hair and wanted to be blond. I bought a pre-colouring agent and my hair came out orange. I had put a headscarf on and go back to the shop to buy a brown colourant! |

Yes I am, forgot to mention with regards to the crazy colours, leave them on to maximum development time to get best colour, steer clear of using heat on the hair (blow dry on cool setting and avoid striaghtners, curling wands etc) and wash in cool water. Heat opens the cuticle (which is where the colour molecules sit), keeping the cuticle as smooth as possible will help the colour last longer. Oh yes and colour shampoos and conditioning masks will also improve the hairs condition and maintain the colour for longer x |

Thankyou all who have contributed to this thread xxxx
A wealth of information and experiences have really informed me x
Much appreciated x
Il keep you posted on developments x
Current thinking is blond and vibrant red foils on front fringe section with a mahogany block colour while the short style grows towards a bob x
Once shaped into a blunt bob - hair to go lighter and blonder x
When in a A symmetrical bob with shaved nape hair to beer near platinum with a large slice of extreme colour - possibly blue x
Hair dresser friend says with regular trims x care - maintaince and products - this is achieve able in approx 6 months or 4 salon visits x |
