"Dropbox.com "
Open it in windows movie maker, and save it for email purposes, it should compress it but will reduce the quality. You can also cut out bits you dont want and merge the scenes. X |

the main ways of reducing the size of a video are
1. edit it to reduce the duration
2. transcode it to reduce the resolution (the width x height-
eg full HD video is 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high, SD is 720 x 576, web video is usually taken as 480 x 320....just make sure you retain the original aspect ratio to stop the image getting squashed or stretched)
3. encode it using a better codec (the code that compresses the data) an mp.4 file with h.264 compression is currently the best solution for web based media.
4. encode it using more compression (so try 80%, 70%, 60%) to see what you're happy with quality wise
5. a combination of the above
try mpeg streamclip from 5squared.com to compress it
then use dropbox or yousendit which allows you to share it with a single person or group by inviting them by email- it remains private to just those you invite |
