I always try to touch base at least once a week, but I I don't hear anything back for 2 weeks, I assume the interest has waned and don't bother again.
Maybe I'm being a bit too harsh ?

Months.
I don’t keep regular contact with anyone. Even my closest friends can be months between contacts.
The first to think something may be amiss would be work colleagues, that would be because I physically wasn’t there. |

Depends on the friend. My bestie would notice pretty quick as we talk all the time. Close friends, probably a few days and they would check in.
My aunt a couple of days.
