Sitting on the fence

a block away from heaven

My favourite part of this website are the forums. I enjoy reading opinions and facts posted by so many. Some topics I am interested in reading about are based on activities I would not engage in, and may not comment upon. I do not like looking through threads and reading quotes from people saying what others would like to hear. We are all individual and should say what we mean in my opinion, and if nothing nice (or even constructive) can be added to a thread then say nothing at all. Has anyone noticed this or am I being paranoid?

No matter what forum you use on any site, there are always the mutual back slapping brigade who say what others want to hear, just so they can stay on what they think is the winning team.

These forums are no different ...

Surely if you are not saying what people want to hear (back slapping) then you will be accused of not being nice (by the back slappers)... in which circumstances you suggest it is better saying nothing at all... which contradicts the bit about not being a creepy arse....

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Does OP want a forum where we either

a) agree

or

b) don't respond?

ewww....no fun AT ALL...even if it were possible.

Isn't healthy discussion worth having, even from opposite sides of Craig's extra tall fence?

Would be so tempting to say either...! I think it is billiant to not have to read someone spouting off simply to win bownie points from sections of people on here. I enjoy reading opinions that at times do not miror my own opinions, and cause me to look at things differently. I do not want to alienate myself by upsetting people, but have a real problem with those I label 'brown nosers'

At times I see women writing or replying from a lady's perspective and two posts below will be a single man who understands the lady's sentiments... NO we as single men don't. I may be going out on a limb, but I have no idea what it i like to reeceive so many mails I have to bulk delete. I do not experience things from that view point, but would struggle if it as described. I couldn't describe what couples feel like when us single guys email you when it states NO SINGLE GUYS on your profile, but do realise it must be annoying. So unless I am missing something how could a single guy, in the same boat as many criticise newbie's or even the ignorant ones so passiontely on the troubles of couples and single lady's?

It's easy to set up a female profile on here....

Mine got about 20 messages in the first 24 hours, but then I'm a bit hairy for a bird...

It was only 19 unless someone else was looking for that leggy, toned, hairy chested woman!!!!

I think I can imagine frustration, to be honest, so as long as they're not trying to empathise with childbirth, I'd be inclined to not worry about it...?

Well the reason i sits on the fence with everything is i realise that im in no position to judge anyone

Primarily because i have not lived that persons individual life and don't know how there reasoning was shaped

That's the reason i don't really comment and just generally muck about in here

Sometimes putting my own personal opinion but realising it is just my personal opinion and could be wrong

We all only live an average of 80 years so why spend the time arguing and falling out?

Real life for most of us has its own problems so why fall out with people that we barely know????

You see that so many times and I actually feel embarrassed for them. The desperation of some single men on here to ingratiate themselves with the women hoping they'll then get a shag is truly funny!

The forums would be boring if everyone agreed and only those with the time and patience to google and past comments to make themselves look smart/labour a point to death!!!

Sometimes I just roll my eyes and move on, sometimes I add my two pence worth and frankly I don't care less what others think - I state my point and move on. You won't find me sitting on the fence and agreeing to be popular.

There are posters I seldom agree with but I respect them for having an opinion, much more fun than the "agreeables"!
