I have 36 at the moment and from skimming through those I can see they're not jumping out and saying read me

The most I had was with a new profile,over 1500 in a week and that was with filters on, I thought sod this and deleted the account,completely ridiculous

But that's because I have filters set, I open every one and I reply to everyone, even if it is a no thank you.

I find it rather disrespectful to brag about hundreds of unread messages, I wouldn't like to think my efforts to communicate were treated with such disregard.

Ok a lot of them will be idiotic ones but that's what filters and the block button are for

Bloody hell!! I do hope you're going to reply with a thanks but no thanks to all you're not interested in as you know what some guys are like on here getting all upset when they get no reply lol. Best of luck getting through that lot, most I've ever had was around 60 but have now applied pretty much every filter known to man so get around 5 to 10 a day, much better

Same here. When I first joined I didn't know about filters. On my first day I had about 4 pages or more. I tried to read and respond to every one but for each one I opened I was getting 3 new ones. It was ridiculous.

5 when I logged on, now it's at 2 as I post this. I read, reply delete so never have that many.

To the person that asked how many blocked.....too many to count but I'd guess between 300 & 500 as anyone I say no thanks to I block, hence so many.

It's up to individuals how they manage their mailbox.

I'm not sure how it can be disrespectful not to reply to a message that wasn't actually requested.

Having a profile invites messages from people that match the stated preferences but doesn't make any promise of a response, a meet or anything else.

I have a profile name which acts as a filter

a well written profile that works for me

many filters that stop alot of what I dont want

We have all as woman been there in the past had many messages and it gets ridiculous.good management of a profile helps alot and my biggest help was to stop unverified messaging me

I do pretty much ok. A lot of what I do is of the kind where I have to be busy for half an hour then might not be needed for the next hour.

Effective use of filters and the block button can reduce incoming mail overnight.

I think most women want less sex than most men too. Far more men than women are interested in having multiple partners. Women more often want one long-term partner. That's partly an evolutionary thing. Men want to 'spread their seed' as widely as possible to give their genetic line the best chance of continuing.

Men can father a lot of babies in a year, given a chance. Women can only have one and are more interested in finding good genetic father material and someone who will protect her and their offspring.

Most women don't need sites like this because their needs and wants are different. They can more easily find what they want in daily life or through dating organisations and sites.

There's also the stigma that nice girls don't use sites like this or have casual sex - the slut/stud dichotomy.

My inbox using my phone only displays the last 30ish messages, read or unread.

To actually sit and count the messages and get to the grand total of 781 is firstly quite sad, you could have read and replied to half of them in that time, and secondly impossible as to see older messages you must first delete the displayed ones (on a phone this is the case it may be different on a pc)

I don't understand why anyone would allow their unanswered message list to get so long - you may well have missed out on meeting some amazing men/people as a result - but its your inbox, run it your way. Like many others I'm not really sure why you felt the need to advertise how many unread messages you have but it does come across as showing off.

Need to know basis

1 (still thinking how to respond to it). I do not open my filters to single men or couples because i prefer to singlemake the first move and choose wisely. What is the point of letting people mail me if i have no desire to answer their mail? It would only how me as ignorant and i am not.

Why on earth is it ignorant to allow people to message you? I have mine open to single men because I want to meet single men. I have verification and photo and age filters on, but obviously still end up with messages from people I'm not interested in because they can 'fit' the criteria but I'm just not interested. It's not rude of them to send them, just as it's not ignorant of me to allow them.

Haha that's my blond moment for the day, totally missed that the yellow box has a number in it as well as unread displayed, but then I don't really read what it says just notice it is yellow for unread mail

There isn't a point. It happens. I have 71 that have dropped off my first page. They mount up quite easily. I can't read them on my phone without deleting others,which is time consuming. Nothing wrong with pointless threads,some are for fun,some written through boredom. Don't like,don't read and don't be rude. I made my point I don't care if people like it or not

It was my own fault. I hold my hands up. I unblocked men on a whim and I'm unable to carry on a conversation whilst saying no thank you and blocking. I have stupid days like that. I don't create when I get a second message from an unread messager though
