Out run or afterburner. Especially the afterburner they had in sega world that was built inside a gyroscope so as you rolled the plane you were turned upside down.

Sega's Space Harrier, the one you sat in and it moved. Also loved the Skiing of Jet Ski ones you stood on.

If I win the lottery jackpot I'm getting myself a games room and buying them all

Asteroids was a good one for when the lights in the pub were turned down/off.

OMG has this thread got me thinking. I feel that if I was to give a favourite I would be dissing the others.... Mmmm

I gotta admit I did play a lot of PAC MAN and ASTEROIDS in our local shopping center. That was before things like OUT RUN had come out. Have to say I lost a lot of money in the OUT RUN game.

I could not do it. Can not give a favourite as I loooooove the old retro games.... Dare I say it but to be honest some of the old retro games were more fun then some of the games today. I guess you had to live the era.... it was also linked with a fun time I had with friends who joined me playing the games.

Slightly off topic tho . . . loved pinball too. Not really a vid game tho...

"Pac man"

I was completely rubbish at PacMan but pretty good at Centipede and could crash the machine when playing the game where you had to direct a train along tracks, picking up carriages, whilst avoiding the rogue engines/track changers.

Can we include pinball, as well?

Can't decide between 'Tempest' (which I was rubbish at) or 'Battlezone' (which I got pretty good at)

There was something about the simple but effective vector graphics that just seemed futuristic at the time!

Don't know the name of it, but it started with two rows of eggs, then they hatched and birds swooped at you, then eventually you had to shoot the shit out of a big round ship until you cut a hole through to the center and blew it up.
