Apparently in the next few weeks, vacuum cleaners more powerful than 1600w will be banned in an effort to assist global reduction in emissions.
As a fab "swinger" what do you think you can do to stop the polar ice caps melting? |

I agree in a way, I work with a lot of elderly people who are literally wasting away in a bed as they are no longer capable of movement, they cannot eat so are fed liquidised food, and have every aspect of personal care done for them. I for one do not want to end my life like that suffering in agony for months, sometimes years and I strongly believe that euthanasia should be considered. I've know people who have given up and want nothing more than to die in peace but it is technically "abuse" to let them starve themselves so the doctors go all out to preserve this persons life and force them to remain here so that the process is even more drawn out! It's awful sometimes x  |

I totally agree with that. We put animals out of their misery when they're poorly and have no quality of life. I don't want to see out my days in some nursing home pissing and dribbling thank you very much. I'm opting out before that if my marbles allow.  |

It's going to do fuck all to stop the reduction of the polar ice caps.....mainly because they're getting bigger again!

China and India say the West polluted like hell for over 100 years. Why should they have to stop now it is their turn?
Why are we bothered anyway? Global warming is a self solving problem. It will not destroy the planet just make it uninhabitable for humans.
Humans pollute, planet becomes too hostile for humans and they die out. Humans stop polluting and the planet cools. Cockroaches and dolphins take over.
All species come to an end sometime why shouldn't we be the first to choose when it happens instead of leaving it to chance?

Ok then, the whole of the planet that we call Earth is becoming more populated by the second. Each and every continent bar Antarctica is polluting the atmosphere. The Indian Chinese region is amongst the most populated region on Earth and therefore it stands to reason that they will be contributing to the problem more than most. It's hardly a case of taking turns. |

I don't believe in all this hype about global warming only due to pollution. Yes, the earth maybe heating up, but I believe it's due to the natural weather cycle of the earth. We've had several ice ages (glaciations) and tropical ages (intereglaciations) throughout earth's history, and this is no different. It's the government trying to get us all to recycle and to reduce our power outage - not that I'm against doing it though.
BTW, what's it with people posting threads and then leaving the site within hours?? |

Most ski-resorts utilise snow blowers, water is piped to them and blown out as to "snow".
The Artic is very windy and very wet. So why not just build a bloody great big "Windmill" snow blower , or 100's of em, suck up the ocean from below and blow it out as snow onto the existing ice floes?
Simple.
Or alternatively, for those "greenies" who would deny us energy, feel free to attach a giant hamster wheel to the windmill and do your bit. |
