It's a very worthy cause. Anyone who doesn't know what ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) is should read up on if. I also recommend you watch a documentary called Not Dead Yet. It's the true story of the musician Jason Becker who was struck down with it in the late 80's. He's still alive and recording new music despite being completely paralysed and only able to move his eyes... |

"What is it ?"
My son and his friends are raising money for Macmillan cancer charity. you do a bucket of water over your head, film it upload it to twitter or facebook, text ICE to 70550 and donate £3. You then challenge others to do the same within 24 hours or face sending a fine to Macmillan. |

I wasn't aware that Macmillan were doing it too. It started out to raise awareness of ALS, they're the only videos I've seen. |

I saw a fantastic one with a guy being drenched by 2 diggers with bucket loads of water. Knocked him off his chair. Best I've seen yet. Not been nominated yet thank folk. It would most likely make me very poorly. I'd rather pay a fine, but donate it to my charity, as there isn't enough research or donations to the ME association. |

Some people are talking gubbins about it replicating how chemo feels which is nonsense, especially since it started to raise funds for ALS. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I have mixed feelings about it now. It started to ALS in the States, which would be MNDA here. However, now it's being used for MacMillan and the MND awareness and potential money is going to cancer.
On the other hand it's great people are raising money.

Does it matter who or how it started as long as it raises money for good causes. Its like saying the only charity that can use collection buckets is the first one to do it. |
