We have a few charity shops here but, some are just as expensive as the clothes shops! I'd love to hit some charity shops in other parts of the country |

Most clothes in my size are dead frumpy so I tend to hate clothes shopping everywhere.
I dislike the chaos of most charity shops and don't like hunting through everything so I tend to avoid them.
I've never bought clothing in a charity shop. |

The ones I go to are well organised with clothes displayed by type, size and often colour. Its amazing what people donate. |

I bought a genuine 'as new' Prada bag in a charity shop for £7. Some time later I needed to raise funds for my daughters birthday so stuck it on Ebay and it went for £100! I wish I still had that bag though...
I know charity shops are competing with High St stores but I've noticed a trend lately whereby they refurbish the shop then whack the prices up. This means there aren't as many bargains as there used to be. Also, some of the clothes are almost the same price as new. They need to do their research a bit better as well - Atmosphere ISN'T a designer brand but I've seen Primarni clothing priced as if it was. I love charity shop browsing but you have to be a lot more discerning these days. |

Ooh I love a good charity shop bargain like my Francesco Baisia bag for a few quid, or John Rocha pearls for £1.50.
I looked in some charity shops off Belgrave Road for the first time the other day - OMG, they're stuffed full of designer gear!!

we both love shopping in charity shops. I bought Keith a pair of Birkinstocks sandals only £4.99. He tried them on and they were too big. Sold them on eBay for £40. One of my recent buy's was a real pair of ugg boots a bargain at £5 never been worn by the looks of them. One persons junk is someone else's best buy.

"I absolutely can not go into one . Also can't borrow books . Makes me feel sick Why?
well for us, just the smell coming out of the door from some of them... worse than subway"
Yes partially this
I used to be very OCD couldn't touch door handles or light switches etc
Am lots better now but they are grubby and I just can't bear them
The only other problem I have now is touching lift buttons as well |

I love charity shops, I've recycled a few evening dresses and ball gowns via the ones in St. Andrews and I always buy my handbags from them. Even managed to pick up genuine nylon stockings in original vintage packaging for pennies. |

There are 2 charity shops where I live that only sell designer stuff. Apparently they get the really good gear from other shops sent in, Versace, Hermes, Westwood etc - but the prices reflect that |

Is it Subway the shop that sells foot long bits of bread with stuff in them or a subway an underpass that smells of pee and has buskers in it? |

I go in a fair bit, as like little nick nacks, in the midlands and Sheffield. Rarely seen any designer stuff though, but up against a ton of students. Think I should be in Eastborne, with a u in it. |

Never really had clothes from them but have had a set of hair straighteners (which i'd had previously and broke, paid 80 quid for) for a fiver. Bargain! Not all of them do electrical goods though as they need PAT testing before they can sell them. |

I've had great bargains over the years. I love vintage clothes shops.
I generally look for quality over design because I'm quite nifty with a sewing machine and hand stitching so I embellished many of my clothes to make them exactly what I want.
I will buy clothing just for the buttons or for the lace etc. Im often in the rag market buying lots of different embellishments etc. |

I was walking out of a local Salvation Army shop the other day when I bumped into a friend.
"You're a disgrace!" he said.
"How's that?" I replied, puzzled.
"Getting your clothes from a charity shop," he continued, "don't you know people most likely died in them?"
"Don't be silly!" I replied, laughing as I pulled on my new single black glove and moon-walked down the high-street.
