Not sexy as far as I'm concerned, bit old and wrinkly looking looking for my taste lol but I'm very excited about the new series. I've just watched the previous 7 series in the space of a few weeks and my best mate is traveling from Wycombe to stay at mine so we can watch the season opener together.
I loved matt smith though so I'm a bit sad that he's gone |

Peter Capaldi = Caecilius in Fires of Pompeii (yes before anyone says it I am aware Karen Gillan was in the same episode albeit under a veil and mainly quiet). Im not sure my willing suspension of disbelief will accept him immediately.
That said, id never heard of sexgod Tenant and he had me at "Barcelona" and I was convinced Matt Smith was just too young (delightfully quirky to look at, wouldn't kick him out of bed) but too young.
Will be gutted if he doesn't "work" for me have loved Who all my life. Yes, im old! !!! |

We were supposed to be at crystal's family this weekend but I'm not going till Sunday morning, partially to fit a 10 mile run in but primarily because I'm not willing to risk her mother destroying my enjoyment of Dr Who by moaning all the way through it! |

They are showing it at a number of cinemas across the UK as well.
Personally, I'm reserved about it. Capaldi is a good actor (and the first Oscar winning actor to play Dr Who) but the writing in season 7 was appalling, hopefully it will be better this season. |

I think the last series was blighted by pulling all the threads of the Matt Smith's Doctor's storyline together.
I was happy with Capaldi getting the role at the unveiling.

I adored him in The Crow Road and Local Hero. Loved him in The Thick Of It. I may even watch The One Show tonight since he'll be on it. Him being Dr. Who may actually make me explode with glee. |

He's also in the BBC series of Neil Gaimans Neverwhere. |
