I'm not sure if it's simply my hormones or the fact that I'm beginning to think the world is going insane, but everything I read in the news or on my facebook today is making me well up; Beheading of journalists, death tolls in, well, everywhere, beaten up pensioners, redundancies, my friend's cat being run over... I feel like I'm falling through a spiral of woe.

Can anyone think of any positive stories they've heard recently or general positive thoughts? Think it's something we all need right now

Google 'nice news' or words similar. There are sites that only report good news. I rarely read news these days. It only makes me sad so I avoid it. The world still turns and I'm happy. x

Katy Piper was in the news with her new baby. That was good to read.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Good things happen everywhere but they don't get reported (by individuals or the press) in the same way.

Misery loves company but company can't stand misery.

I really loved the story last month about the Rabbi who joined in with the Ramadan fasting and broke his fast with a group of Muslims. It gave me hope.

I read the other day about a gay Immam (not sure if ive spelt that correctly) who married 2 Muslim lesbians. It was in Sweden and they had had to move there due to their sexuality.

I also read about a jew and Muslim getting married.

Nice news

That's actually really nice to read.

My cousin's Muslim and his fiancé is Jewish, can't wait for their wedding

P.s. You were close, it's Imaam

I don't read the news either. No idea why I put myself through it today! Silly girl.

Will Google 'good news' and see what occurs. Thanks

BSE

I never watch or read the news for this reason. Plus its not the news...its the news they want us to hear...as they want us to hear it.

Nothing keeps a poplace down like lots of bad news. Makes em happy they have jobs or a home.

Its all bollox.

Not forgetting who is or what is the controlling influence/ownership of generic news outlet.

I suggest hiding all posts from Facepoop friends who constantly post those terrible images. Or delete them, which is what I do. Most are spam or cons and I decide which news items I want to read myself. To cheer myself lately I've been looking into some of the lovely gardens my neighbours have planted. Don't let Facebook dictate your mood or they will soon have you booking holidays you can't afford and buying shoes you don't actually want
