Do any of you have any recommendations please? I need a family orientated hotel with lots to do and where my son will meet lots of other kids. We need some entertainment on the night. A water park near would be great. I am interested in going to Turkey, Greek islands or possibly Sharm El Sheikh. I would prefer a quieter resort ie not clubby/pubby but not too quiet. My main worry is going as a single female with a child as I would feel vulnerable so quite concerned about safety.
Advice/recommendations gladly received. (I dont have a huge budget either, about £1,500 max).
Thank you x |

"Good on you,, im so scared about going abroad with my daughter as a single parent. Would certainly not be relaxing for a moment "
Thank you. I am very lucky as my dad lives in Spain so we do go there every year. However, my son does get bored now as he is getting older. I would happily travel anywhere with him but my main fear is safety being on my own with him. I've looked into escorted single parent holidays but they are ridiculously expensive and to be honest, although I'm more than happy to meet new people etc, i dont want to be forced into groups and excursions every day! i also dont want to put him into a kids club all holiday as i want to do spend time with him.
How old is your daughter?x |

Caretta Beach , Kalamaki,Zante,Greece,
Its a great little island, and the hotel has its own water park.
The resort has lots of bars etc.and a stunning beach less than 5 minutes walk. |

Best water park i ever been to is the huge one in Aiya Napa, Cyprus, rated as one of the best in europe. However Aiya napa does have a reputation as a party place at night time, but the beaches were beautiful and full of families during the daytime. |

Koutouloufari or Piskapiano in Crete are quiet family friendly resorts, and the water park is a bus ride away. I took my daughter there when she was 7-ish and we had a great time.
Roda in Crete also has a water park but we didn't get to use it as Roda was shut (note to self - holidays in September in Corfu are cheap for a reason!) Crete stays open til the October half-term. |

"Koutalafari is probably one of the nicest little villages I've ever seen
Stunning
But thought it was pretty dear for meals drinks etc"
No more expensive than the rest of Crete. Anyway I doubt someone with a small child will be up late drinking cocktails.
I go to Greece a lot and just buy 2 x 1 litre bottles of their red plonk. 7 euros and it lasts me the week. |
