Watching the little traveller kids riding a pony around the park, no saddle, hanging onto the mane.

Good riders, pony is well behaved too

My youngest rides her horse bare back and even goes over jumps! I prefer a saddle as the horses back is a tad boney!

they are in tune with the pony that's why, body to body contact.

Ive done that in the caribbean,down the beach and right into the sea until the horse is swimming

Some of the travellers in Aldermaston, when I lived in Hampshire, were absolutely amazing horse riders. I never saw them use a saddle.

Even when the horse was somewhat spirited they made it look simple. I know for a fact it isn't!!
