See, my hair is temperamental.

In the morning it resembles Medusa with bed head.

If I don't straighten it, I look like a poodle with an Afro.

If it still has its knickers in a twist after being straightened, I look like I get hair care tips from hagrid.

How do you describe your hair?

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Mine has a mind of its own. The curls go in different directions and it's thick. Since being post-menopausal it is also prone to dryness now.

The new cut will tame it for about a week before it reasserts itself.

Inbetweeny.

I'm growing it but at the moment if I lie down (let alone sleep) I get flat bits. I wake up with it sticking up and all I can do is wait for it to get longer.

Thick but annoyingly fine. I have to torture it into submission with a daily regime of shampooing, loads of styling product, blow drying and a fog of hairspray to finish!

I have an enormous mop of long curly hair.

Think Crystal Tips although someone did describe it as pre raphaelite and meant to be spread across a pillow. That was quite a nice description I thought.

Yes, I should say that my hair is nearly to the bottom of my rib cage at the back. There's a shed load of it but the individual strands are fine. And it's prone to being really dry for the past two years now but I'm not really sure why. It's just evil.

Yeah, since I've been straightening it for a few years now the curls don't form proper curls anymore. Before that, I resembled a china doll the ringlets were so bad.

Takes me just over two hours to straighten it now. I'm way too lazy for that so I'm embracing the curls!

Hello everyone, this is Libs hair.

I would describe myself as rather deep, I spend hours looking at sky and thinking about other worlds.

When I'm not hanging around all day I'm also a bit of a night owl and when Lib goes to sleep I go out the clubs drinking until the small hours only to return before he wakes up. I don't think he's noticed yet.

Thanks for making this thread. Sometimes us hair feels really left out.

You might want to run a brush through it before you go out...

All this doing stuff to it. I just wash it, bung some product in it and leave the house. Whatever happens after that doesn't matter as I don't see it again until bed time.

Takes me that long if I'm doing it with a hair dryer and round brush. Takes half an hour with my vibes, though. If I could have ringlets that didn't turn to 'poodle with an afro'i would embrace them.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks DG (I assume I'm talking to her anal beard anyway).

I'd better go now - Libs in the bath and I just managed to come back to type this by getting some Shampoo in his eye. He might notice if I'm gone too long.

Happy to oblige, Lib's hair. Can't go around leaving you out of things, now can we?

Mine is thick and long and does pretty much what it likes. Sometimes sleek and shiny, sometimes wavy, sometimes an in-between straighish yet frizzy mess. It doesn't seem to matter what I do to it so I don't tend to bother with straighteners or products that often. If all else fails I'll shove it up in plaits or a bun and if my fringe starts to form wings at the side I'll get it trimmed.

If Lib is hanging out with women who have anal beards, you need to point him in another direction... try Brylcreem... it'll attract a whole other sort!

South East Midlands NOT

Thick and wavy. Bleached to within an inch of its' life and changes colour regularly (various shades of pink, blue, purple and green in the last 12 months). Layered bob. Pretty easy for me to manage but then I AM a hairdresser!

Well, my wig always looks like it is having a party when I first put it on. Over time, wigs seem to develop a life of their own and require more work imposing your will on them. I knew I was in trouble with my current wig when a polling card arrived in its' name the other week

Nicely halfway down my back and multicoloured, though what colour depends on what I feel like at the time. Currently it is light red at the sides, dark brown on the top and the ends are blonde (have been Red, Blue and Purple).

Reciently someone described my hair as looking like a fox has tried to hide under my hat

Quite similar except straightening seems to back fire with a hint of humidity

Iron supplements aid in faster growing. Calcium does to a point but add iron and it grows at light speed.

Apparently it grows at an average rate of six inches a year.

Which means it'll be another three years before my hair is properly long again.

Really. I have to take it easy on them because they make me fart but if I do take them my hair grows about double what it would without them.
