I don't have low standards

Just curious about what this phrase really means. I'm guessing it's supposed to be some statement of quality control. "I won't sleep with any old slapper". As if that's supposed to rub off on you in a good way.
In our quest to find compatible playmates, we have a very relaxed attitude to who we'll meet for a social (not to play). I can imagine others thinking we have low standards, as if we were desperate or something. I'd say we're looking for something very particular and we'll know it when we find it. But how that relates to having 'standards' I don't know... it's more about being open minded about where we're likely to find mutual attraction... as well as being adventurous in exploring different body types and ages. I don't know... does the phrase "will try most things once" imply low standards? lol 
I suspect that behind any sort of mention about 'standards' is a pretty snooty view of other people.
I thought it'd be interesting to see how other people felt about this aspect of Fab's culture  |

My standards aren't looks related as such. Personal hygiene obviously and general lifestyle play a part. I wouldn't call it lowering standards to meet someone different |

I view 'having standards'basically as a way of saying that I have to have an attraction and connection first. Saying you have standards in general isn't, in my opinion, snooty. Saying that 'I have high standards and only those who fulfill the following list (of very narrow requirements) stands a snowballs chance' might be a little snooty. I suppose it's about the context. |

We all have standards and they sit at different levels for different people. I doubt that anyone thinks theirs are low for them. The judgement comes with those that think they have higher standards than others.
We need a Fab benchmarking exercise and then I will draw up the different levels and a proper kitemark. There will be an entry level standard.

I get you Honeypot (he says trying desperately to ignore her wonderful avatar  ) ... but I think the word 'standards' infers some kind of grading system for sexiness... a bit like school kids might conjure up. Surely it's just a matter of attraction or not? If you find yourself attracted to some old wrinkly fart that doesn't mean you've got low standards... it just means you find older guys attractive.. doesn't it?
I think the only time 'standards' come into it is when you turn someone down because you think they're out of your league i.e. too sexy. This betrays a low sense of self esteem which, in other words, says you don't feel they are the same 'standard' as you.
Am I making any sense? Kinda thinking this one through as we chat...so I might be wrong |

My view is that it's a reasonable turn of phrase so I don't think too much more into it. I have standards of hygiene for example. I keep myself clean and tidy and I'd expect someone I was likely to get up close and personal with to have similar standards. I don't think there's anything wrong with having standards.
I'd imagine we all set levels for ourselves and they're different. What's cool for one person isn't cool for another. I don't think I'm superior because my standards are different but I'm not gonna jump into bed with someone who smells bad just so they don't think I'm a snob.

Ive had people say very personal things about me because of certain pics on my profile,maybe it has made those people feel superior to me in some way because they think I have no standards and they do?
No one is better than me and im no better than anyone else,people become defensive if they are made to feel inferior in some way,especially when its about personal choices that really have bugger all to do with people that have no interest in them

During a conversation with a man he said he wouldn't lower his standards to fuck a fatty. I've heard that a few times. I think they feel it will reflect badly on them if other people found out |

1) outcome planning - I am ready to meet the people I am approaching - mark yourself from 0 (I am not even who I say I am) to 10 (I've lit the candles and got some champagne on ice)
2) delivery - If I say I'll be there I'll be there - mark yourself from 0 (no I won't) to 10 (I'm already there)
3) risk management - If you ask me to rim you after eating out at a curry house I'll do it - mark yourself from 0 (no way jose) to 10 (I've got a face mask already prepared just in case)
4) continuous improvement - If your meet wants you to fuck them again for longer you say yes - mark yourself from 0 (it's game over... nothing I can do about it) to 10 (where did the night go?)
5) achieving external accreditation - when you get home you find a wonderful verification waiting on Fab for you - mark yourself from 0 (they blocked me) to 10 (they just doubled the size of my profile with gushing praise)

The standards topic comes up again .
How many profiles do you see with the words ' we have standards ' , or ' we aren't after shagging the whole site , it's quality over quantity for us ' etc.....
So common , and more often than not the type of crap written by those who rarely meet . Probably because we don't reach their exacting standards !
So here is our take on it .
We all have standards , very few of us woukd just shag anyone regardless of age , sex , size , cleanliness , attraction etc..... It's a no brainer , how many profiles do you see saying ' we will shag anything ' ?
So why is there a need to state the obvious ?
Our opinion is because it gives the impression they are better than the rest of us , their standards put them in some kind of elite class .
For us it's a good reason to bypass them , we know we wouldn't get on .
For us , swinging is about satisfying ours and others fantasies, desires and dreams of a sexual nature .
We didn't used to show our verification summary after some negative comments from the quality over quantity brigade . According to them we have no standards . Then we thought sod them , we don't care what you think , we know we are happy and that's all that matters . So we show it , and proudly too , each and every meet is special for us , and hopefully for the people we meet .
So all those who think having a quantity of quality means no standards , you just keep sniping at those like us . We will keep having fun whatever you think .
