For a playphone? I mean fookin' cheap. (I am so tight I squeak when I walk.)
Must be able to have kik and whatsapp, at least.
50 quid tops is all I want to spend, and I am kinda looking at a samsung galaxy y, weighing in at 49.95 (including a tenner top up).
Anyone know if that can use kik and whatsapp - is the phone any good, or is there a better phone or cheaper?

Was looking at cheap contracts for a family member. Can get the galaxy 3 mini for £11 a month on contract. Google talk mobile they use voda phone and are through car phone warehouse. They do offer cheaper android phones but don't get much data. |

You upgrade but you can still use your old phone. Get a sim card of your choice, depending on what you need. Data, minutes, text |

Huawei Ascend Y330
Look at this from Car phone warehouse. Has a much better spec than the Samsung Y , it runs on a newer version of Android and so more likely to support newer apps. |

maybe too simple.. but why not just get a sim card and swap it over?
kik u dont need a mobile number to exchange contacts anyway.. so when it comes to confirming meets just phone them up but 141 your number |

The galaxy y is diabolical got it for my son some time ago and the memory is always full, apps won't run on it properly and it has inbuilt parental controls as the Y stands for young so it wouldn't be a good option as a play phone!! |

Samsung Galaxy 3 Mini can be had for £7.50/month on a 24 month contract
Only 200MB of data for when out and about, but plenty of free wifi around these days.
Handset on its own is around £110, so the old case of balancing the monthly contract.
