Inspired by a thread where a certain 'Alfisti' may (or may not have!) previously owned a Ford Orion - are there any proper lemons in your car ownership history? I guess we all had a cheap, small runabout when we were learning/first passed our tests - so confess! What's been on your drive?
For me? An Austin Princess, a Renault 5 (1.4 automatic! ) and a brief spell in a bright yellow Fiat Cinquecento!

I once had a Citroen Xantia 1.9TD SX that was a total sh*t to me despite the money on servicing and repairs lavished upon it.
Auctioned the bugger. HAH ! Luckily that was a long time ago, been driving company cars since, but now have my own Honda Civic.. mmm |

"My first car was a cream Maestro. It had a push button radio, you pushed the button and the needle jumped along the display.
Im not even 40. I know own a car with air con and air bags."
I think the Maestro is winning so far!
Unless someone turns up having owned a Morris Ital (like my dad!), in Beige with brown upholstery!!

My next car 18 months later was a Toyota Celica, 1.8, DOHC, and absolute beast. I put £3k of audio in it.

Nah, had 30 years of Volkeswagens that never let me down, and two very good Fords since divorce rendered me penniless and I became too old to give a shit about 'status'!
Drove a ghastly little Fiat for a fortnight between Beetles, but I managed to write it off for it's sins.

My first car when learning to drive at 17 was an old mini van bright yellow you could still see the old company name under the paint work(COOP)
From there is went something like this,
Mini car 950cc
Ford Escort 1.2 super deluxe
Morris Marina 1.4 in red
Rover 2 litre
Ford1.3
Mercedes C180 (Auto)
BMW 321i (Auto)
BMW SUV I'm Certainly driving
With respect to all the above cars they were all very good cars at the given time in my life
Wished I still had one or two of them.

"blimey my 1st car is older than most people on this thread!
Hillman Imp, racing red not sure what engine size prob 1100 which was in the boot!"
My parents had one of those when I was wee... it was blue and I used to have to sit in the boot bit on the way to swimming lessons cause there were too many of us. It was warm on top of that engine. |

my metro was crap because it was a metro, and my freelander because it cost me so much money in repair bills....think it spent more time on the back of an aa truck than actually being driven. |

"I really miss my cinquecento. We traded it in for a panda.
I want to get another one! "
That the 'green' way to go!
A bit slow - and I suspect a panda could only carry one person at a time - but they're really cute!

I passed at 17 and had a Peugeot 107 till I was 19
Then bought a Peugeot 207 1.4 only kept it roughly 6 months slow and sluggish
Then bought a Peugeot 207 S16 1.6 which I loved but had the gearbox break big style so I got rid. Nothing fast but handling was amazing
Now I have a honda civic 1.8, revving the bollocks off it is highly amusing
Can't fault the civic but peugeots are horrendous for reliability and build quality.
And the mrs had agreed to buying a glanza V next year |

Ummm I dont know. It was borrowed/used as a show car from time to time, it was loud and the sound was still pure.
Some twats nicked all the gear one night, I used the insurance on a clifford alarm and never put the stuff back in.
The twats all got a hiding for it too
