Last night whilst d*unk in town. It has my entire life on it... imagine losing your phone without a passcode on it, Fab's first internet page, hotmail is the next.. my text messages, photos etc... Its something so private and now its in someone elses hands lol... devastated! Oh yeah, get your phone insured.. mine is not.

Being insured wont stop it being lost/ stolen or unprotected by pass code.

Change all your passwords for email, Fab, eBay, Amazon and whatever else you use from your phone first of all.

Can you do that thing where you ring up and it's blocked? Losing it doesn't always mean someone else has it though it might be laying somewhere all lonely. Have you rung it?

If I lost mine I would be mad but I could replace it easily enough. It's the Fab bit that would amuse the person who found it.

If it's a smart phone your provider can block it out completely.

if it's an iPhone you should be able to access 'find my iPhone' through the cloud. There you can have complete control over your device, find it's location even when switched off and block the device. I'm sure there must be something similar for other smart phones.

Lol. If I found a phone with that kind of stuff on it (not that I would look) I would just think "bloody good on you" as long as it was all legal of course and try and return it to its owner. Maybe that will happen

I use an app called 'Lookout' you can trace your phone via GPS, if the phone is turned off it emails you with its last known GPS coordinates, if someone enters the screen lock code incorrectly 4 times it uses the rearfacing camera and emails photographs of the person to you and you can also remotely wipe and block your device.

It also does antivirus/antispy scans and backs everything up to a secure cloud server.

Its a phone. Instead of replacing it, go to a shop that sell lives, and buy one

You never know, you might get lucky and it's been picked up by a nice person who'll try and get it back to you!

Otherwise, when you've got a new one, secret photo folder apps are your friend.

Sorry to hear this . Hope you get it back. I've found loads of phones over the years and have always done everything I could to return them to their rightful owners. Only one was unsuccessful.

One of the first apps I install on any new smart phone is "look out" or "wheres my droid".

Both apps you can locate your phone via gps through a lap top or a friends mobile phone.

You can remote wipe the entire phone.

Sorry about your phone op but its not the end of the world, try not let it ruin your weekend as whats done is done.

anyone who has an iphone/ipad and doesn't have this app is mental... and it should be the first app you ever put on your phone....

to be honest I dont quite know why apple dont pre-load the app on the phone as standard

If it's an android and you've set it up correctly as well as locating it (presuming its on) you can remotely lock or wipe it via your Play store "Android Device Manager"

Contact the police and see of its been handed in. You'd be surprised at how many honest folk there are going about.

Just noticed the "Lock" Option also allows you to add a custom message and a button to ring a set phone number.

Not everyone who finds a lost phone is evil

Pretty sure you can call it and it'll automatically answer on speaker so you can shout "this phone has been nicked by a thieving scumbag" too!

Android phones have many apps these days that can help with lost and stolen phones. I have avast it allows you to control your phone from your laptop, tablet or other preregistered device. It can tell you where your phone is through GPS, if it's being used and you will even get the new number if the person who stole it swaps out the SIM card. You can even download it to your kids phone so you know where they are lol. It's free too.

Just a bit late for the o.p.
