This being a site where people generally tend to be looking for sexual relations with others, it makes sense that there's obviously going to be a lot of complimenting going on, as people attempt to make their sexual interest in others known, and hopefully reciprocated.
What I want to know is, when you compliment someone, do you consider the choice of words you use to have various grades of intensity in describing your attraction, or do you consider them to be pretty much all the same? |

I choose words carefully to try to convey my felt atttaction. They of course may not be received with the intention behind them. I'd rather say nothing than give a compliment I didn't mean. |

I try not to say "nice" if I am complimenting someone as it's a bit of a nonentity, loads of things are nice, lovely is a word I use a lot, sexy, handsome and for some it just has to be the gorgeous word.
It's great to get compliments but as I only rate myself as fair to middling on the looks scale they are taken light heartedly and often dismissed |

"I choose carefully but I don't give them away lightly"
Likewise, I never compliment people for the sake of it, and am always very choosey in my choice of words when I do. 'Beautiful' is a word I use very sparingly, and when I use it to describe a womans appearance it means I find her VERY attractive and consider it a great compliment. |

I choose my words carefully when giving or responding to a compliment. Textual only communication is a minefield, as humans are hardwired to look for other cues alongside the words used. If you think about just one word, gorgeous, and think how many degrees can be conveyed in the one word simply by tone of voice alone....
I try my best to compensate for that lack of those other cues in a clear way. |

There's only one person I'd ever describe as gorgeous - but I wake up with her every morning.
In regard to others I/we'd gladly tell them they're attractive to us - but there's no need to kiss ass or over compliment somebody.
There are plenty of people we've met that we'd happily describe as lovely - but that's as much down to personality as looks.

I don't usualy mention looks unless they look especialy nice then I might say to them they look really nice or say I like your pictures. I might say I like their cock or their jumper. |

Of course my words are very carefully chosen, and to be honest usually kept for PM anyway, I find the constant fishing for compliments and ego stroking on here very tedious! Surely one or two compliments are enough to take it to PM and get talking? Meh, whatever, people will amuse themselves how they like, some mean it, some do not!

Intrigue gets me started compliments are rarely given so when they are they are meant but thank you is how I. normally respond to them never want to seem fake and so many on here do PM is better |

"yeah i'm very selective with words in regards to looks, think i've only ever called 2 men beautiful.

But presumably there are different words a woman might use to describe a mans attractiveness than a man might a woman? |

There are loads if handsome men in here and in the real world but to find a stunningly beautiful man is quite a task, I like to think the beauty is more on the inside than the outside. |

Funny I would say that about just about all the words I can think of but not beautiful - that to me implies feminine, which I would not find attractive in a man. Stunning a little bit I guess.
One of my dancing buddies is way too good-looking for his own good, I say he has a smile that stops traffic! Haha!

The 2 men i called beautiful to me were simply wonderful.. i didnt find them lustful or sexy, but they were more than nice, it was the warmth in their eyes and smile, the cheekiness. They were pleasant and they had decent hearts and good souls..
it was the whole package that made them beautiful rather than just attractive.
i can find someone attractive but not desire them for sexual purposes, i respect and admire beauty |

Oh OK, I see where you are coming from - I would be more like to call them wonderful, I would usually only use the word beautiful to mean visually so.
But yes, I might say someone had a beautiful soul as a superlative. |

I'm hopeless at both giving and receiving compliments about physical attractiveness.
If someone calls me smart though, I'm always pleased. I care more about my level of intelligence than my appearance. Not that I think I'm any kind of genius. All those online IQ tests are of no interest to me. |

I like to tell people something nice if it's deserved using whatever word seems most appropriate; I don't overthink my language choice since I think my gut response is usually the correct one. I have told a man he's beautiful because he was. I think a woman can be handsome too. |

I often get comments like "your tits are amazing". No they're not, there is nothing amazing about them, they are tits with nipples. Now if they had six nipples each, then maybe, or if they performed feats of magic, but as they go they are tits. You might like them, you might not but I doubt they would amaze you |

"Can't find it in the dictionary but someone just called me 'fugly' is that a compliment?"
If YOU qualify as 'fugly' then this persons definition of attractive must be truly transcendent, like a woman made of rainbows who glides into the room bringing with her the scent of fresh cut grass and wildflowers, who's mere presence fills those who witness her with pure, incandescent JOY. |

I give hardly any out, if I'm meeting someone or show an interest I like to think that's a compliment to them in my own little way. Being a single female on here I get a lot, they just go over my head to be fair unless its an unusual type or thing their complimenting on then I might appreciate it more |

I think you have strong features, and a worldliness to your expression, I'd imagine you work in some sort of managerial capacity, and the way you're delivering that blowjob looks like you have an intense hunger for sex, and seek to be thoroughly satisfied in the bedroom x |

When I use the word 'worldly' to describe someone, I mean they come across as having maturity, experience and wisdom, it has nothing to do with age or being 'haggard'.
And you have great cheekbones x |

So how would you describe me then?
I think you have strong features, and a worldliness to your expression, I'd imagine you work in some sort of managerial capacity, and the way you're delivering that blowjob looks like you have an intense hunger for sex, and seek to be thoroughly satisfied in the bedroom x
Apart from 'worldliness to your expression', which infers I have a well travelled visage, which in other words may translate as haggard
When I use the word 'worldly' to describe someone, I mean they come across as having maturity, experience and wisdom, it has nothing to do with age or being 'haggard'.
And you have great cheekbones x"
Better.... you are almost good at this x |

"Can't find it in the dictionary but someone just called me 'fugly' is that a compliment?
If YOU qualify as 'fugly' then this persons definition of attractive must be truly transcendent, like a woman made of rainbows who glides into the room bringing with her the scent of fresh cut grass and wildflowers, who's mere presence fills those who witness her with pure, incandescent JOY.

"I got called an "exotic creature" the other day,,lol,,is that a compliment "
I'd happily take that.
It's so hard to convey appreciation honestly and there probably words that do get overused. I have often said "stunning" also, sexy and gorgeous. As long as the overall intention is communicated, I think that's the main objective. |
