Isis is more serious. They're trying to basically take Iraq over by force. They're currently beheading people for not covering to islam. The u.s. began airstrikes today to combat them, which i personally don't think will do any damn good. It's a complicated issue and isis isn't the only threat but it's the largest one at the minute. |

Isis makes Saddam Hussein look like santa claus!!
Saddam being offed left a power vacuum in Iraq. and Isis are filling that hole with.. well, a ton of nasty shit. To put it politely. Think Saddams regime on steroids. Then taking 3 lines of . And 2 pints of red bull.
(Well, that's what I think anyway).

You're not far off, in my estimation. I'd add, though, that it was more than just removing saddam. Yes, that created a vacuum, but if handled properly it could've worked. The fact that no suitable infrastructure was put in place is what caused this, complicated by the attitude displayed by American forces further feeding anti western sentiment. Many people have a lot to answer for in this conflict as well as others. |

" In a nut-sac, ISIS have declared an Islamic Caliphate across the area of northern Syria and Iraq.
"
To set record straight. It is Southern Syria and North Western Iraq. It is one faction of Islam fighting the other (Sunni vs Shia) as they feel the Iraqi government is one sided (which tbh it is).
As long as it was Muslim vs Muslim then the west we're standing by...couldn't give a shit. However in last day or two ISIS(Islamic State in Syria) or ISIL (as the US refer to them - Islamic State in the Levante) have attacked a Christian area so suddenly Barack has decided he must act to save innocent civilians.
Hope that helps. |
