Granted but that particular threat only becomes an issue if the person has been infected with Ebola. Currently the risk is very low in the UK as so far despite several people here having been tested as possibly suffering the disease but as far as I have hear none have been positive results. |

Probably not many folk, but my Irish mate, Paddy O'Shaunessy was told by his parents to save himself til he got married...on his wedding day, he had 47 milk bottles full |

If you want proper information on any of the five subspecies of genus ebolavirus, visit the WHO (world health organisation) website or the CDC's (centre for disease control and prevention).
Ebola is a virus that works its way into all bodily fluids during and after incubation.
The time between infection and symptoms ranges from two days to three weeks. Usually by that third week, it shows up in semen.
It might not be a grave issue in the UK as we have much better medical care and sanitation (although this government thinks everything is a privilege that doesn't require funding), but at the least it can be a fuck awful case of killer glandular fever.
If it ever did spread here, it wouldn't be airborne, but you would do yourself and others your due by keeping your meets a month in between at a time |

I don't know anyone that could fuck without kissing but you're right, hemmorrhagic fever isn't the most motivational of illnesses. |

True but to avoid anyone in the UK over responding my first reply stands. It also currently holds for most of the rest of the world with the exception of west Africa. I am sure the hand fully of people identified with Ebola outside that region are being very well briefed about the risks and most seem to be involved in infectious disease control or treatment themselves. |

"Just read an update on NHS.
Even more reason to show that condoms are essential! "
Yes, for 7 weeks if you survive the virus. However it takes months to regain strength, weight, and normal function if you survive the virus. It's unlikely a survivor is actually sexually active that early in their recovery. |

"Didn't know people with Ebola lived as long as 7 weeks.
Best leave out the necrophilia for a while then"
Hehehe it's not always 100% fatal. The US aid workers that went back home are recovering already and that's been well over a week.

They've brought the death rate down from 90 percent in the first outbreak in '76 to 55 percent in this current outbreak. Through hygiene measures because there isn't a treatment or cure as yet, though those two aid workers were given experimental treatments as well, including a transfusion of blood from an Ebola survivor for antibodies. |

I read that this is the worst one on record. Not for fatality I guess because about 900 out of 1500 have died and that's not a 100% fatality case, but in terms of communicability.
The US has an unlicensed vaccine but like hell are they going to give it away to West and Central Africa. |

This is the largest outbreak, in terms of numbers infected. In the past it has always been contained in isolated communities in the interior. This is also the first time it has traveled to populated areas, and the first time it had hitched a ride out of Africa. Early symptoms mirror the flu and you can be contagious and infect others during those early symptom stages, though not before those symptoms show up.
I read the who and cdc websites about the virus but wasn't satisfied with the lack of info they actually give so i had a friend from high school who is a doc stateside send me real info on it. It's an interesting virus, that's for sure.
The states has experimental treatment, but very little. Ebola has never been a priority for study because it was contained in Africa and therefore little public threat was seen. But I'd bet experimental treatments are being and have been used in Africa during outbreaks. When they find something that works, big pharma will be all over it and it won't benefit those in Africa who really suffer from the outbreaks. It'll just be used to protect those who can pay for it. But treatment will mean that the virus will mutate.... and that will be very bad indeed. |

Grim isnt it? And look at it this way, if Big Pharma and all his Big Friends want unlimited access to rainforest and other natural resources in Africa, what better way than to have them in infinite debt for curing Ebola?
Everything becomes a corporate gimmick in time; charity, security, even saving lives! |

On the other hand, how many people in the UK actually have the virus.
Oh unless we're counting the suspected cases, that the press are choosing to sensationalise,
due to the lack of any real cases.
It's true, ebola is a fairly serious disease, therefore should not be used,in frivolous scaremongering.
