I like the north I would rather go that way than south both for the countryside and in general the friendliness apart from if you are crossing some farmers field then the urge to Run Like Fuck! kicks in at the sight if a shot gun and the unsettling words..'Get orfff my land!' |

What rubbish! It simply goes to show that you should never take any notice of such awards.
Are they saying that people would rather visit Bradford than Barcelona? Or Barnsley instead of Florence or Darlington instead of Venice?
That is just nonsense and it makes them look foolish saying it.
A long weekend in Paris or Pontefract? I know which one I would choose and it would never be the one in West Yorkshire.
Imagine suggesting to their partner that they had planned a romantic break in Rotherham rather than Rome? They would find themselves dumped pretty quickly!
Where exactly in Yorkshire has better architecture and is as interesting as St Petersburg?
