Buying a suit

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

So, i've got my brother's wedding coming up and i need to buy a suit. Now, i don't usually wear all these stuff so i'm a bit lost as to what 'cut' to buy.

My body is a bit out of whack and some of these blazers just look a bit weird on me. Either too tight around the shoulders or just too baggy!!

Aahh fuck my life!!

Try action man

Or one from the Barbie and Ken range

In both cases you may have to take the legs up a little.

How about a sari!

Titz Towers, North Notts

Try George, the £15 court appearance range.

Suited and booted on a guy looks great, but to me the important thing would be that you are going. You could buy an all white suit and then spend the day playing Hopkirk to someone's Randall.

Hire one. They have different fittings for all shapes and sizes

Depending on what you want to spend you have a few choices.

M & S do decent suits at not to much money as do Next and matalan

Or you could go to the suit shop or youngs and get measured and with the range of suits they have you can pay from £100 - £1000 so they cover all prices. They will also tailor the suit for you for a netter fit and a small additional cost. GL

If you want to look cool and stand-out from the crowd, Ozwald Boateng is the only way to go.

Looking at your build - I'd say you'd probably suit a 'tailored' fit.

Go to a decent suit shop just to get measured. Or even Debenhams (they're normally helpful).

Good luck.

Country gent! You would look fantastic in t. Get a three piece so you can take the jacket off and keep the waistcoat on. And go for some Jeffery West shoes; they are lovely!

You know i looked at some t suits (if i recall correctly). Had a really nice one but didn't think with the woold it'd be good. Don't want to be getting all sweaty betty.

Always like Baumler suits. Timeless cut and great fit. If you find a shop with a sale on selling them, they are well worth the investment.

Id see if you can borrow one, as its alot to pay for something that you may grow out of before you next need one. You can always take the loaning friend out for a treat, or just invite him on your next fab meet with you

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Popeye! I didn't have you down as a last minute outfit man. I hope you used your discount and asked for all the trimmings.

Enjoy the wedding tomorrow and don't forget to post a picture.

Go to a suit shop where the staff wear suits and look good, get them to pick the entire outfit for you, give them money and wear it. Simples.

Primark do jackets and trousers you buy separately, I think its about £25 a suit, they are machine washable.

I bought two when I was a school teacher as they could take the hell of daily use, plus they had so many pockets.

Take a look, they are not that bad and if you are not a regular suit wearer why pay 8-10x more ?

It was a last minute colour code and outfit change. Very annoying.

And i will do - bring on the wedding fever! I'd have to loosen my buttons to accomodate all that food i think!
