Often hear folks saying money don't buy you happiness.
yet these folk are well off and quite Cleary never lived on a budget.
i appreciate money comes with problems however surely you would rather be rich with problems than poor with problems |

If I had a lot of money I would be happy and a lot of my problems go away. I know they say money can't buy it but this probably comes from the mouths of people with a shit load. When u don't have any money that's when the real problems start. I would be laughing if my bank balance was a never below a few hundred grand. Or even a grand haha |

Although I don't think that money can buy you happiness. I certainly know that not having enough can bring you misery.
Having enough money would certainly make it easier to achieve happiness, but only as one of a number of factors.
On the other hand some things can truly make you happy all on their own... such as love, great friends, and chocolate.

"No, I know loads of miserable fuckers who are loaded.
But it can buy lots of shoes and the space to store them all If you are smart and know how to shop, you can do that anyway."
And a degree in shoe stacking |

One man's heaven is another man's hell. That's a quote that backs up the OP's original.
These days, the poor are lucky if money buys them relief from debt. The middle class are lucky to get the time to spend money and feel the benefit and the wealthy only have so much they can buy, or so goes the assumption since they do more hoarding than spending. |

It can't buy you happiness.
However struggling to make ends meet makes you miserable.
Like I've always said regarding the lottery etc I wouldn't want to win a huge amount, just enough so I could quit my job and start my business properly without financial worries. At the moment I have to work part time and run my business, Paul works hard too yet we don't have much left for luxuries etc. Would be nice to have luxuries more often, more time together as a family and breaks away- that would make us happier so yes money would improve things for us. |

Doesnt that put you in the middle class?
Money can buy you security, and that is enough for many of us to feel content, but I'm not sure that's the context of the thread. |

I should have explained myself better, the top 20% of "earners" in the world have a great deal of the money people need to survive by today's system and there is little for the poor to earn as a result.
Rather than mention what I'd do if I won the lottery, I simply wanted to state that today's levels of wealth amongst the minority are making life incredibly hard for others, especially when the likes of the US Fed Reserve start horading gold for fear of it no longer being available. |

Over the rainbow, under the bridge |
"Money,money,money...is the root of all evil.
No - the LOVE of money is the root of evil.
Radix malorem est cupiditas.
It's actually 'the root of all kinds of evil'.
"
I stand corrected - 1 Timothy 6.10.
But the relevant point is that it is cupidity not money itself. |

Who knows maybe it can for some but I do know money can alleviate hardship and despair for many. |
