Have been chatting with a hot lady who was up for meeting. We were just sorting it all out when she mentioned she has two cats, and I'm badly allergic to cats. Bugger.
There's a pussy joke to be made there but I'm not that crass. Honest.
What logistical issues have stopped you meeting when everything else seemed so good? |

She seemed pretty keen on hosting so I didn't want to keep pushing the subject. Who knows, maybe we will still meet but it was a bit of a bummer to be thwarted by something so silly. |

"Antihistamines lots of lol"
I take them for other allergies anyway but my cat allergy is pretty bad. Upping my dose will probably just lead to me falling asleep mid-coitus which doesn't do anyone any good. |

My mother finding out I was on the site.. had to cancel a meet and stop meeting for a while as she was making my life difficult.. My ex husband told her through spite as he was jealous.. Get this though.. He is still with someone he found off here.. That's how much he hated it |

Shame about the cat allergy - maybe you could mention that on your profile so people with cats will consider that before messaging. Just an idea.
Something that has thwarted our plans in the past has been bullshit - 'bi' guys who are dreamers and arrange a meet only to back out at the 11th hour with amusing excuses. Less of an issue in clubs of course.
Loving the tatt by the way. A double thumbs up to the sentiment |

"Cheers :D
And yeah, fake bi guys give us real ones a bad rep!
Well if you're ever at Abfabs on a bi night, come and say hi. You won't find a single moggy there - just an assortment of pussies "
As good as it sounds I can't see myself going at the ridiculous prices that seemed to be charged. £60 for a guy? Lunacy. |

It's cheaper on a bi night - which is why straight guys go to chance their luck |

Still, it's what, £40? I think the most expensive fetish night I've ever been to was £20 so still far more than I'm interested in paying; it just feels like such a rip off. |

I tend to compare it to a vanilla night out... the cost of a meal, maybe a trip to the cinema, a few drinks - combined, that could easily come to the price of a night at Abfabs.
I can understand single guys feeling aggrieved about the higher admission price but it is for an exceptional experience you can't get on vanilla street. |

If it a costing you £40 a head you're going to some pretty fancy cinemas :P
If it included all your drink I might find it more reasonable (though being tea-total still a bum deal for me) but I've been to plenty of kink events that were £10-15 in central London and just can't see how this could possible cost so much more especially given the location.
Fair enough, I know they're not desperate to get me there but someone's making a killing from these parties, or they are woefully poor organisers. |

It's a big venue, well organised and has facilities such as a large heated pool, a couple of jacuzzis, a sauna plus numerous play rooms / cinema etc. They're also constantly improving the venue so I can see where the money goes (although of course, it's a business so they're going to be making money).
As for the admission price - we pay £30 as a couple. A meal out for both of us would cost, say £40, a trip to the cinema @ £12 a head is another £24 (plus any drinks etc) and if we went for a drink afterwards, we could easily kiss goodbye to another tenner. So probably over double what we spend on a bi night at Abfabs. In the same circumstances for a single guy, £20 for a meal, £15+ for the cinema plus drink and a fiver for a pint after... that's the same price as a bi night at Abfabs. I guess it depends what sort of night you're after.
We consider it good value. We don't go to the weekend evening parties though because we don't want to pay the higher admission to attend an event that doesn't suit our requirements. Like everything else, it's a case of supply and demand |

We also put it on our profile as we have nine at the moment. We take in and rescue kitties so feel it's only fair to let people know. Cat fur can get everywhere.
However with this thread being titled "thwarted by cats" we were expecting the cats to be interfering with the fucking, usually by clawing a foot or taking an instant and violent dislike to a vibrator, or is that just us that's happened to? |

Definitely not just you! We've so many interruptions it's crazy. Plus teaching them to open doors was NOT a good idea...
Now we've three kittens who think that Ooo mummy and daddy are bouncing up and down we must ATTACK!! It's... Fun. |

I have three cats. One of them is particularly antisocial and doesn't like it when unusual people come into the house so tends to make a break for under my bed. However on one occasion, after luring my new gentleman friend to the bedroom we discovered that the cat was actually under the duvet. |

Oh no!
Most of ours when we've people round would rather all the attention be spent on them rather than anything else. Before you know it it's three hours later, we've very happy cats, and no closer to the bedroom sadly! |
