I just returned home to find my post and who was looking up at me!! Only a meet I had met couple months ago!!

I know people "bump" into each other sometimes but, for it to be a leaflet with a face staring at me, I'm finding it ironic! Ha

I was wondering the same. I'm failing to see any irony unless I'm not getting it.

I thought 'ironic' was the correct word. Id be the same, you walk in and holy fuck, that lad from 2 months ago is looking up at you. All the faces on all the leaflets its his and your doorstep.

I am though a bit thick so you shouldnt get too excited.

I didnt but I do now.

Please provide me with an similar example of how you would use 'ironic' and not 'coincedance'. This will bug me now.

If she had rode him like a horse on that door mat just insdie the door then would of this been ironic? As previous his face was there looking upwards. Im guessing the leafet landed face up OP?

No - still wouldn't have been ironic.

Ironic would have been if she'd ridden him like a horse, then a leaflet dropped on her mat and he was the local Tory MP (other political parties are available) and he was talking about his beautiful wife and how he was promoting family values etc etc. In that case I would say 'oh, how ironic'.

Now, if she had ridden him like a horse (other animals are available) and a few weeks later a leaflet drops on her mat out of the blue and it's his face I would say 'Oh, what a coincidence'.

Sometimes however, I may not say anything at all. I like to mix things up a bit, just to keep life interesting.

Surely your example wouldn't be ironic either? Surely for it to be ironic she would have to ride him like a horse and then a leaflet comes through and he's a horse salesman,

Nit picking here folks. Ironic or coincidental, it was amusing enough until the Hot OP started NOT telling us what the leaflet is.

Now its frustrating. How about a very wide description?

Is the leaflet political, DIY based, Takeaway based or Charity based ?

Is this vague enough ? Discretion Police please adjudicate.

ill be honest cause that's how I am.. To begin with I felt as if I was being set upon for just sharing a story but, I had a KFC and Iv let it go over my head as I can see the humour side of some posts too.

I just found it ironic/coincidental/funny or what ever you want to call it, that i already had a meet with him some months ago, then only last week did he ask me to meet again, then his face is coming through my letter box the week after!

Naaah Im not having this, many mingers come through my letter box and straight into the bin. I cant think of any examples other than a good one I mentioned above.

The double glazing guy, you buy one you get one free. Talking of which, pick from Reg from Corrie, or the bald head guy with long hair at the back, dresses like a knight. (could be a regional thing)
