do any of you suffer? how did you find out and without being oo gross what effects do they have?
i suspect i have some, given my answer to the number 2 thread lol but i am also on medication that causes some gastric....distress so not sure how to work out what is what.
and yes....to all the predictable polly's on here, i shall be discussing it with a medical professional but in the meantime anecdotal evidence may throw something up (see what i did there??? lol) |

I'm allergic to ginger as that makes my lips and tongue swell up.
I find some spices cause a sore tummy.
Salads (love them) but they can rush through me a bit so I have to think about
when and where and which leaves are in the mix.
I was tested about ten years ago and I'm apparently intolerant of dairy, including beef but I can't say that I feel any effects so I just carry on with my cheese and beef.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
Coffee. Luckily I've never really enjoyed it but since being quite ill a couple of years ago I can't drink it at all now. It does manifest itself as what is medically known as 'gastric distress'. |

where did you get tested? just your GP?
saw an ad on facebook for a yorktest which was a tenner but if the GP can do it i'd prefer that.
I'm the same with salad....imagine, a fattie actually intolerant to salad lol |

Maybe that's why we're fat? Our bodies don't like them low calorie green things.
My GP referred me somewhere for the tests but it was private as there wasn't anywhere close enough on the NHS at the time. I was going through a lot of strange things happening with my joints and my body so I wanted to see if I could do anything to control my lupus through food.
After 3 months of detox and eating only things that came up as tolerable I was no better and didn't even lose a 1lb so I went back to eating everything again.

I was intolerant of fish and shellfish and would break out in a rash if I ate it. Was also intolerant of cows milk as a baby. I can now drink as much milk as I like and probably could eat fish now but I`ve been left with a fish fobia! |

My GP referred me to a dietician who I see regularly and we are slowly working through my problems. So far I have found I can't eat Pizza, unless it's fresh dough, pasta or anything reheated. I've had to cut down on fruit and I can't have brown bread or any bran. I'm feeling a lot better but there is still some problems. |

"A close friend is Celiac.
DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH GLUTTEN IS IN FOOD!!!
"
It's crazy isn't it? When I was on my restricted diet I couldn't believe how much milk and wheat is in just about everything. Going out to eat was almost impossible unless I went somewhere that cooked fresh and I called ahead to go through what I could and couldn't eat.
I also found that the free from pasta replacements are bloody awful. |
