If you suspected someone of being over the drink drive limit and then planning to drive, would you grass them up, even if they were friends/family? if all attempts at getting them not to drive have failed? |

Yes - every time - regardless of who they were.
There's no excuse, and there's always a point where they make a sober decision to mix drink and driving, so they can't say that they were too d*unk to know better.
No sympathy for them at all!

With out a doubt, I test child car seats for people and so many people say they just want a cheap one as they're a good experienced driver but as I tell them it doesn't matter how good you are, it takes two cars for a serious crash. Same principle applies |

Having picked up the pieces of many a road accident over the last 20 years, many caused by drivers over the limit, I would have no hesitation in grassing someone up no matter who they were. |

I would try to stop them. If that failed then I would call help. I could not live with the consequences if something happened.
I remember how frightened we were as children when my dad drove us back from parties d*unk. It was the 70s and we didn't even wear seat belts back then.

Yes, without a shadow of a doubt and I have done many years ago, it actually forced the guy to sort his life out and instead of drinking himself into an early grave he's still knocking about fit and well. Z |

I have more than once and I would again. I've seen a 15 year old girl get knocked down by a drink driver as she was crossing the street and was dead before the ambulance arrived, so I don't care who you are I'll not hesitate to call the police. |

Straight away.....but before that I would physically remove their keys from them....have done this a few times.
At last works Xmas do I nicked 3 sets of keys from colleagues and snaffled phones from 2 of them to call partner of one and friend of another to come and fetch them.
Letting a d*unk drive is tantamount to condemning someone to death.... |

Yes and have done.
I lost a close family member to a d*unk driver.I've lived with the devastation it causes. I did, however, report someone years before this happened. I have also lost friends over my stance but I don't care one bit. |

Have done and will do again. I could never live with myself if I knew someone was drink driving and caused an accident. Everyone has the same duty of care to report it!! |

I'm pretty sure neither my family or close friends are dumb enough to even think about drink driving. But if I saw someone, even a stranger, get into a car when obviously pissed as farts and rive off, yes I would report them. Drink-driving is one of my pet-hates, because its so easy to avoid. |

Hopefully, I'd be able to confiscate their keys. Or persuade them otherwise, no mean feat reasoning with a d*unk, my last attempt, saw me spending a couple of days in hospital. So therefore if all else failed, I would report ..D n D is a fools game.. And a car can be one hell of a lethal weapon. |

I have done. It was a friend who was staying with us, he went to pick his parents after drinking a few bottles of wine in his room. The police didn't bother with him. |

I'd ask them for their keys first. If rheybdidnt hand them over I'd call the police right in front of them.

Yes! I've sen 1st the effects of drink driving, and there no pretty. Also I work in a petrol and have taken someone's keys off them as there where so d*unk they could barely stand. |

Yes and I have done so to a very good friend after I was.unable to take her keys away from her.
I refused to get in the car with her (she'd been my lift) and as soon as I got to a phone (pre mobile phone days) I called the police. They had already stopped her before I called!

With out hesitation, I wouldn't see it as grassing them up but rather potentially saving there life and everyone else on the road when the stupidly try and get in a car d*unk. |

Just playing devils advocate ........ After few beers in the pub one night you know someone is driving the next morning, without a breathalyser to do an alcohol reading and a count back on them ...... would you all who have said yes so far now ring the police and tell them the person is driving in the morning and you suspect they may be over the limit if they did drive?
I have not d*unk a drop of alcohol in 4 years now as I am always up early on the road and after a while you certainly lose the desire even for a social drink, but i do wonder how many people getting in their cars in a morning are not legal to do so, I am playing devils advocate on ringing police the night before if you know someone is driving in the morning because to me there is no difference a person killed by a drink driver is wrong no matter when they drive |

dont know if id preempt a phone call, you don't know if they will be still pissed (over the limit) or not some people do sober up quicker than others... I can see both sides of it but no im not sure i would...

Yeah without a doubt, firstly I would try get there keys off them if that didn't work I would tell them I'm going to ring the police if they drive, and if they got in the car I would call them without doubt |

Yes.
I once saw somebody getting into a car who could hardly manage to stagger to his car. Took his reg then rang the police. No idea if they nicked him or not....but one lives in hope. |

Yes. And did so a few years back. He was collecting his daughter bladdered every night from his parents. I couldnt sit back and do nothing. I knew it would cause huge arguments but i thought of his daughters safety. So yes i did grass him up. |

I have. . Many times! . . Do I feel guilty? Do I heck!!
I've taken many sets of keys from people from all walks of life, and sat on a few car bonnets too, not the wisest decision I ever made. . But it worked at the time . .
The amount of people that I've heard say it's okay I've only had . . .is ridiculous!

My son was driving down the road to get some chips once and he forgot to put on his seat belt and got fined £30, that was a dear bag of chips.  |

many year ago some of us tried to take keys off a man or were trying to talk him out of driving, he would not take any notice couple my friends nipped out opened his car pulled wires of spark plugs then left him to try start car
once he gave in got lift home put wires back |

I have and would do it again. The driver was a good friend of mine too!
I think it should be law any driver shouldn't even consume alcohol at all if driving.. Just my opinion! |
