I guess it's because sometimes their woodenness works and fits the story...whilst most of the time it's just... wooden 
If you want to see some truly dreadful acting that made it onto the silver screen I'd suggest Tom Courtenay in 'Last Orders' and Samuel Jackson in 'Star Wars'. At one point I swear Jackson flaps his lightsaber around and then looks at the camera as if to say "why kind of shit movie am I in here?" I guess he was beginning to realise he was working with the same director who made 'Howard The Duck' lol | |||

If playing the same part with the same dodgy english accent makes him one of the greatestcharacter actors of our time then yes, i must be kidding.."He has made like 5 movies using an english accent in a 30 year career, and that's what you're basing it on? What about movies like Donnie Brasco, Heat, Blow, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Bennie and June, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, A Nightmare On Elm Streeet, Cry Baby, The Libertine I could go on but I've made my point. Just because Jack Sparrow is his most well known character, doesn't mean he can't act. | |||

I completely agree that Tom Hiddlestone is a good actor. And his future looks promising. Although THOR was was a terrible affront to film. Granted i'm not a 12 year old girl, with a penchant for shit, moral less straight to DVD movie, along with Buffy and Angel. But I still consider it a god awful wanky watse of my time and knowing that other people watched it, and some even liked it, made me want to just die!

I'm only kidding. Obviously some of those actor can actually act. Such as Chistopher ecclestone, Robert redford, and Anthony Hopkins. Even Ben Kingslay and Idris Elba. But not sure about th rest. Especially Bradly Cooper. He has blue eye;s and a nice smile. Thats it! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to step into this flame proof suit! | |||
