I need to scream ! Just squished one on my bedroom floor !!!!! Wt ?? They were a 1970's bug !!! How very dare they come back now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

is there an epidemic of them this year? i was beginning to think i was the earwig queen as i have had loads of hem in my flat!!
i woke up to find one squashed on my leg one day!! they even followed me camping |

Earwigs are extremely useful insects and, although, they do eat some plant species they are extremely good at annihilating aphids, plant lice and blubottles
Classed as non-social insects the female does, however, demonstrate extreme care in the safeguarding of her eggs and young.
So, like spiders, try to avoid killing them as they do very much more good than harm.
For your delectation, the insect most frequently found in the ear canal is the cockroach. |
