Get a breeze going. Have a cold water bottle in bed, and keep your feet uncovered, if you have bed linen on your body. Otherwise, a cold shower with or without a partner, to help you cool down - if its heat thats stopping you. Or do some relaxation exercises - can teach you some yoga.

Cut out caffeine and chocolate before bedtime. Make sure you get your hydration though. If your digestive system is okay with it, try a banana an hour before bedtime (an actual banana).

Try sex earlier in the evening if you can, then settle down with a book for an hour or two. Whatever relaxes you and tires your mind.

Most importantly, switching off is quite a trick, but it simply involves realising that quality sleep is a luxury that you must afford to be selfish with, all the while knowing that tomorrow can sort its own shit out if it has to.

Just do what it takes to make yourself as comfortable and content as possible.

usual things that people make the mistake of doing as follows

turn of tv and hit the sack , your brain is still digesting info , so turn of the tv at least 15 minutes before your thinking of bed .

No electrical items in the room i.e. laptop ,mobile, kindle , they give of light or the temptation to look at them . there are links also to them interfering with brain waves .

I dont watch TV but I make a point to recognise that anything electrical will still be there the next morning. Besides, the internet forgets nothing
