Mine was a Russian Hamster called 'Fatso' (from Casper the Ghost) I was aged 12
Id had family pets before but nothing i could call my own, family pets we had were mainly Budgies (had about 10 in total)
Ive just got a fish tank for my daughter and spent a while reading about animal care. She also had to look after the nursery goldfish so feel its a good start, plus i dont need pet insurance if anything goes wrong |

We had a cat, poor bugger was called Manky. My Mum named him not knowing what it meant just liking and my Dad never enlightened her. A neighbour finally asked a few years later why she was mean enough to call her cat that. My Dad slept on the sofa for a week!! |

I had a gerbil. Vince had a spaniel.
Not telling you the names as it's a typical security question and I'm paranoid that you might try and steal my inheritance from my long-lost rich Ugandan uncle.

we had a border collie bitch when I was born, my god she protected my arse for the first few years. I could do what ever I wanted to her and she never snapped, she would whimper if I hurt her and my mum would rescue her from my clutches. she was with us through till I was about 5, a fantastic dog. |

Awww
Especially dogs. They have such a personality about them. I don't think my first pet of a tortoise cut the mustard really. But my first dog. Omg, I was completely devastated when she died. |

Mum told me the farmers cows had got out and could i help.... she told me to go check in the stables just in case they were in there.
There she was all done up in bows attached to her head collar |
